Ok well this is a sad story and really messed up. I do have really funny ones but I though I'd get this out of the way. If you don't want to read fucked up stuff then read no further.
Well I've only been a guard for a few months and this happened my first week.
It was morning count and we were waking up the inmates for breakfast and checking the cells. I was out on the main hall and noticed this young inmate staring at the floor and he had some cuts on his face and looked like he had been worked over. We are taught to look for theses kind of things, but as you know in prison shit happens and people fight. But something didn't seem right since I knew this guys who is around 22 hadn't been here very long, and wasn't affiliated with any gangs. I walked up to him and asked him what happened to his face and he said nothing, I look at his cellmate and then back at him. I pull him aside and ask him him again what happened? he said he didn't want to say, so I decided to take him to the infirmary to get his
shit check out, since the cuts were deep and look like he needed stitches. I also wanted to get him away from the other inmates, as we walk he starts crying and I just look at him and say what the fuck happened? He doesn't look me in the eyes, and mumbles something I can't make out. I said he needs to speak the fuck up if he wants us to hear him! He says it again, What he says I knew happens but your never prepared when you hear it for the first time. He say his cellmate had raped him during the night. I'll tell you something when you hear this and not see the shit being talked about in movies it just kicks you in the throat. Your trained for this and stuff you might see but I'll tell you hearing it is fucked up. I tell him to keep walking to the infirmary and we will report it to the on duty SGT. As the young inmate gets checked out I grab the SGT and tell him what happened, he walks over to the inmate and asks him what happened and not to get to detailed, his cellmate forced him to perform oral sex and then assaulted him. The first thing I noticed when this guy takes off his shirt is the 7 bite marks on his back deep enough to leave marks hours after the assault. As the Sgt ask him other questions all I can think in my head was I can't believe this shit happens, wtf. This young guy in prison for car theft gets assaulted by some scumbag who thinks he can pretend this guy is a girl. Well as the inmate finishes his side of the story, I couldn't believe the next words out of the Sgts mouth was well maybe next time you might want to fight harder.........! I was like what the fuck, even the inmate looked at him like he just assaulted him. I decided to speak up and tell the guy he has only a few options he can files his own complaint, but the state requires that any inmate that is sexual assault and is in need of medical care we have to report it. So no matter what his cellmate is going to find out. And in prison a rats a rat, and can lead to some awful things happening to you. He started to cry again, as he realizes either he's going to be assaulted again or someone is going fuck him up when they find out he snitched. The Sgt left to file the charges and start the paper work and get the psychologist to speak to him. I stayed there with him and stood there as this young man got stitches in his face and his rectum. All I can tell you is that he was moved to protective custody, and it didn't turn out to well for him. He was attacked in protective custody too, and protective custody is just filled with snitches and homosexuals,so it's not that much more safe. He tried to kill him self and is waiting to be transferred to a medical prison.
Well I tell you this story because prison it's fucked up first week to have. in the few months working there I've seen people stabbed and got into so fights with inmates to get them off of other guards. It's part of life being inside a prison. But I'll never forget that first week and now understand why we go numb after a while and why you'll hear my opinion on things and straight forward because, when you deal with the best of society everyday and see how they treat each other, you become numb to certain things.
To let you know the inmate got 3 yrs added to his sentence of 15yrs for murder, and I came to find out he's known to take a liking to the young guys.
