I like painting, art, and pussy (I know you are already thinking FAGGOT at the first two, I went through high school). I like most kinds of art, but my heart is with figurative oil painting. I intend to post some painters I like here and see if any diss-cussion/discussion about contemporary painting starts. May just be dead on arrival. Here we go:

MICHAEL BORREMANS:

1963, Geraardsbergen (Belgium)

Makes slightly surreal images of people doing nothing or something that does not make sense. He really loves the colour brown. One of my current favorites.

Luc Tuymans

Born 1958, Mortsel (Belgium)
Lives and works in Antwerp

Mr. Tuymans is a painter generally credited with reinvigorating figure painting in the late 1990's and early 2000's. He usually paints images from photographs that deal with issues of politics (mainly European). A lot of the following painting are of his series on the holocaust and issues around WW2. He paints all is paintings in one session (as in the painting is done in 8 hours or so), after he does preparatory water colour paintings from photograghs. Lots of people cop his style.
