Rapidshare can't get shut down for hosting all of these "illegal" files, as all they are doing is offering a service for people to use it as a way to store files. Rapidshare itself is not responsible for the content found on it, its users are.
It's like if someone expects photobucket to be shut down because some sickos posted pedophilia porn. They won't get shut down, the people who used it to do something illegal might get busted, but photobucket is innocent, as they are not responsible for uploaded content

Everybody is forgetting the small fact that Rapidshare is a company out of Sweden or Switzerland. NO ANTI-PIRACY LAWS THERE!!! Hell, hacking isn't even seen as a crime there.
Im glad that i stumbled upon direct downloads because my ISP has been throttling torrents so my speeds were getting killed.
As for me using rapidshare it was the first one that somebody recommended too me if somebody had of said one of the other im sure i would of used them.

Thanks for the insight and feedback folks. Probably some questions many people wanted to ask (myself included) but were afraid of all the n00b comments flying their way. Personally I found Rapidshare to take way too long to just upload some full discs, so I will try some others so I give back.
