I got into an argument with some folks on another forum about this movie, basically because I said I find it hard to take a movie with both Mo'nique and Mariah Carey in it seriously. They gave me shit for judging a movie before seeing it, even tohuhg I never dismissed it, just that I couldn't take a movie seriously with those two actresses in it. I mean, history would dictate that this movie is destined to be a shit film, looking at each of their acting filmographies, but noooooo I'm a cocksucker who hates good movies it seems.

If someone tried to sell me on Precious, here's how the conversation would go...

"Hey, are you gonna see Precious?"
"I don't know what it's about"
"It's about a young obese girl who overcomes adversity and serious family trauma to make a better life for herself"
"Well that doesn't sound very original"
"Yeah, but it's really really good."
"Really? Who is in it"
"This young actress, it's sort of her break out role."
"Well who else is in it?"
"Mo'nique"
"Pass.
"Really?"
"Yeah, why the fuck would I watch a Mo'nique movie?"
"I'm telling you it's a REALLY good movie"

In all seriousness, it does seem like a really good film.
