My laptop screen has begun to give way. The hinges are shot, I'm pretty sure, and it falls over now unless there is something(ie a wall or sturdy book) to keep it propped up.
This really sucks, so does anyone know anything about changing the hinges or how to go about fixing it? I definitely can't afford a new one. The laptop itself works fine, as does the actual screen. It's just the fucking hinges on both sides that are out of whack.
If it matters, its a Dell Inspiron 6000.
Thanks.
ps I know theres a thread for this, but I figure I'll get more help posting here.

Heat ... you ain't gonna like the answer. Your best bet is to craigslist, or eBay and try and find a broken laptop with a good case and transfer yours to the better case. You can try dell but new cases are usually $200+ and a broken computer is way less. You can also try calling local repair shops to keep a heads up.They will try to offer to do the case transfer for you, but it's labor intense, so it won't be cheap and you can't always guarantee that they will transfer all of your equip to the case.

New hinges would probably cost more than they are worth. If you could even get them. Besides, Dell Inspiron 6000's are junk. Sheesh, everybody knows that. Duh.
