^^^^Will be informed that Hogmanay is a Scottish celebration that happens every year on Dec. 31st. Its the welcoming of the new year very similar to a new years celebration. Its a very important holiday, probably even more important than Christmas.
I wont get into too much detail, but its a huge celebration for some, and it involves alot of symbolism. One of the big one things used is Fire. Its thought to ward off evil spirits and represents the return of the sun after the winter solstice....its really very interesting. You should read up on it.
Lots of music and celebration. I love Scotland...my very best friend and his wife visit almost every year and are decendents, so ive been exposed to all sorts of wonderful traditions from there. This is what I've been taught by them....I could be wrong and hopefully Max will correct me if I am, but as far as I know thats it in a nut shell.
