If you need me I'll just be circling the maternity ward, listening for screams with my glass ready in hand.

Aren't you the most discerning of gentlemen. I would still hit it with a post natal depression book.

Followup tomorrow with gastroenterologist, hopefully I'll find out if the polyp is cancerous or not. I got a reminder robo-call Friday and then a call from a real nurse today. I'm too busy at work to call the doctor's office back, so I told sugarbooger to do it. She didn't get through and no return call yet. I'm getting a little nervous.
If you can't take the heat, get the fuck out of my kitchen!

Yeah and it was a single polyp and "large" so not likely to be anything. But since I've met my deductible for the year on insurance, I'm going to push the GI to find a cause for me shitting all the time too while I'm there.
You know you're doing something wrong when the gastroenterologist tells you that it's a good thing you were shitting blood, and you end up believing him when he's done talking.
So here's the rundown: I have Barrett's Esophagus, an erosion of the esophageal lining from heartburn/acid reflux than in .5%-2% of people (mostly old white guys) causes esophageal cancer; I have a hiatal hernia so my stomach sometimes reverses course on food and tries to send it back up the esophagus; I had a large precancerous polyp in my colon (so large it was semi-obstructing the flow of my colon) that would have been cancerous in as little as a year if it hadn't been found (yeah, this is when I was suddenly glad I was shitting blood and had to have the colonoscopy); my liver functions are elevated which could be caused by fatty liver but may be from some permanent liver damage/scarring. I have to go back in 6 weeks and get more bloodwork drawn, then back to the doctor in 2 months to review if the liver functions have calmed. If not, it's liver biopsy time to see how bad off my liver really is. In the meantime I'm going to get some pills to see if I can stop shitting 8 times a day and was asked to keep losing weight (I'd lost 5 or 6 pounds in the three weeks since my last appointment).
tldr; MGH's digestive system is like a ride at a shitty Kazakhstan amusement park.
