SP, c'mon, John Locke's thing is clearly more philosophical rather than factual. Facts are for pussies
And on Machida, totally agree with you that he should have already had a shot. Not only that, I also have no problem with Anderson headlining shows, I love the guy and think he's one of the most exciting fighters in the sport right now. I'm saying that as far as buy rates go, he's had a hard time drawing the "average" (read: TUF n00b) fan. Rashad should have to go through Machida but doesn't have too. That's the problem. Especially in a division that is so stacked Rashad just getting a shot leads me to believe that Dana is hoping that Forrest stomps him and helps build up his repoire with the casual fan, get him being a big draw and then pushing the shit out of him.

No reason to be aggressive, Omaplata. I was only trying to start a conversation and see if anyone knew of the Millers. Obviously you do, because you knew that they trained under Renzo.
I was only trying to feel things out. For example, if I was to go onto the baseball forum and start a debate on the use of sabermetrics in scouting and use all sorts of facts about that, I would come off as a pretentious dick. Now, I don't know as much about MMA as I do other things, but I did not think I had to taylor my statements to your liking.
I can understand that you are passionate about both the forum and MMA, but really, is there any purpose to making a comment like that?
Yeah, I know what you mean. My fear is that I think Rashad is a bad matchup for Forrest. Rashad's wrestling makes Tito's look like he is a chump (which isn't true at all) and I'm afraid that if Rashad comes in with the "wet blanket" game plan, he'll get a decision victory. The best case scenario would be that he tries to stand and bang with Forrest. That said, I think Forrest will beat him (that dude has more heart than just about anyone in the sport).

Yep - If you can take the dickheadish comments, you'll fit in. We've had too many people come in here and act like idiots. I think it's great you know who the Miller's are. They are talented fighters and will do well. That said, you'll get a lot further in this particular thread if you add some meat to your comments. That's all. Not really trying to be a total dick, but we try and keep the fucksticks out of this thread. If you bring some good conversation to the table, I think it's great. You managed to mention a couple fighters that haven't really been discussed here. I'm simply saying that you could expand on that. Maybe being from the NE, you could offer some background on the Miller/Lauzon arguments which have been going on for a while. If not, that's cool too. You just have to be prepared to get a little flamed on this thread and defend your positions. Welcome to the MMA thread.

Agreed. If Rashad can shoot in and hold Forrest down for the 5 rounds he will easily get the decision. I think we can all hope that he stands and bangs, or that Forrest somehow is able to get Rashad pinned up against the cage and go dirty box the whole 5 rounds. I'm going to go with Forrest, too, but I think that this fight is a scary one. Does the UFC really want their premier division being championed by Rashad? Hmm...
Forrest definitely has great takedown defense and will have a world class training camp, it's just scary. I have a hard time betting against Forrest because of his heart. That guy doesn't ever give up.
here's my solution to the lhw division title picture
make a mini tourney like they are for the heavies. have rashad vs machida in november(as long as rashad didnt bust up his hand there's no reason he couldnt be ready) and have forrest and wand fight on the end of the year card and the winners could square off sometime in march or april. seems to make sense to me, which is why it could never be...

I hear ya man, and I'll be sure to add some facts/meat to my comments in the future. As far as any Miller/Lauzon argument goes, I don't know much about Cole, just Jim and Dan.
