Of all the ways the Lidell vs Evans fight could have ended, that was the one I was sure wasn't going to happen.
Damn.
I picked Lidell with a ko/tko rnd 2, and when I saw him start pressing Rashad towards the cage, I thought to myself 'Here it comes, Lidell is going to put one on his chin'.
Good set of fights overall. Franklin looked as sharp as ever.

chuck is done being a threat for the belt. he refuses to adapt like the young guns and is ending up like tito and hughes. he'll keep fighting but not many more significant bouts.
and it was a pretty mediocre card. decent fights but nothing that really stood out besides of course the huge ko of liddell. but even that fight was a snooze fest up until the finish
I really hate to see the "old-timers" lose....and I really hate to see them lose to people like Rashad Evans.....He's a good fighter and I'm not taking anything away from him, he just annoys the shit out of me

Agreed. And with Dana already having announced that he is going to have the next shot at Griffin's belt an interesting thing is this: If Griffen lost to Evans, the next match would likely be Machida v. Evans. If people hav ea problem getting into Anderson Silva fights and having him headline PPVs, what is a Machida/Evans going to do to get people to watch? Don't get me wrong, I respect both guys as fighters very, very much. HOWEVER, they are not super exciting most of the time. Ideally, Griffin will win and then fight Machida and win, and then he'll get either Wandy, Shogun, 'Page, someone who will get people to buy the PPV.
I think part of the problem is that Machida already should have a title shot. He's really getting dicked a little bit. Personally, I think Rashad should have to fight Machida before he gets a title shot. Dana isn't giving Machida his shot because he's boring as hell. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Machida v. Franklin rematch and when that happens, Machida will beat him again. I don't really see a problem with Anderson headlining shows. He's always exciting. I think the UFC is still trying to build his star power because he's on top of the game right now. It's hard to see someone beating him, so they need to build him up if he's going to be sitting there a while.
Anyone every here of the Miller Brothers (Jim and Dan). They are both going to be amazing fighters. They just got signed to the UFC earlier this summer. I wrestled with Jim in high school, and he was a tremendous grappler then. He's had three years of intense martial arts training since then. Keep an eye out for both of them.

If you're going to come on this thread and make some type of bullshit blanket statement, follow it up with some facts. The Miller brothers both train with Renzo and are tough fighters. WTF does 3 years of intense martial arts training even mean?
