i've posted so little recently i'm not even the top post whore anymore. it's like having a fave tv show...once you miss a few episodes, it's hard to get into it again.

this might sound stupid, but i feel kinda proud about what i helped create. some of you have become offline friends and that's great.

i'll stick around and post once in a while, but probably not like i did in the beginning.

First off, EVERYBODY that posts here wants something.

Think about it for a sec. Whether it is an opinion, a laugh, a thank you, RS points, an avatar, or to expose others to a band you really like... even to give back to the forum so as not to feel guilty about taking so much, there is always a reason that people post. If someone was totally indifferent then there might be no reason to post and he might only leech. The only reason we were speculating is because you left it wide open to interpretation by saying

Now that you have clarified "return" to mean "reciprocation" we can all understand a bit better and stop all the theorizing.

I don't believe anyone is faulting you either. I know that even when i was theorizing i prefaced all my comments to exclude you but to give examples of how others might be thinking.

Personally, i think a lot of people that don't post as much in Park Bench went through the exact same thing you have gone through. They started out getting music here... eventually started giving it back... then eventually moved on and just visit every once in a while. I don't know how many PMs or posts from people i have read that said things like they were amazed with what we have here... especially in the early days when there weren't as many music blogs/warez sites. Sure, there's a portion of ppl that already knew about newsgroups and torrents but to the majority (IMO) of DSFers, this place was/is a godsend. Then people move on to other sites.

Make no mistake about it though, EVERYONE appreciates all your effort. We really hope you keep coming here even if it's only once or twice a month.

This place is always in a state of change so who knows, maybe in a month we'll have a new crop of people posting a bunch of music that you have never heard of and you'll wanna get involved again!

NOT stupid at all!

I've had this convo with others... there are a lot of DSF'ers that feel that way!

I wouldn't have stuck around for all this time if i wasn't also proud of DSF. If this was just another Warez forum with a bunch of Indian/Russian/Turkish ppl posting links on cash hosts without speaking to each other (and can barely speak English anyways) i would have told Jesus to find someone else to take care of this forum years ago!

It's the people and personalities that make this place great. For every 1 chick here that talks shit about me how DSF sucks, there are 30 people that think it is pretty amazing.

EVEN jesus tells me "You guys created something pretty fucking amazing". He has said it repeatedly.

its been this way on every ed2k/torrent/usenet board ive ever been a part of. forums start, usually with the hard work of only a few; forum grows; eventually the original few move on for whatever reason...boredom, burnout, real life, whatever, and hopefully new posters move in and fill the void. usually takes more than one new poster to equal what one of the legends could do, but usually it all works out, and growth continues. nothing new. all of their hard work, and contributions are of course, 100% appreciated.
