Our thoughts are with you. I wouldn't waste much time thinking about your uncle?? and his participation or lack thereof. The one thing I learned when Mom passed is that every one of us has to cope in their own ways. And the more estranged someone is from your loved one the weirder and more difficult that coping can be. I know I barely made it thru any of the family or public stuff. I just wanted to be alone. I never really dealt with it until I got away from everyone else. It's good that you were a strong son and stood up through these tough times. I can tell you it's never going away. But day by day you'll figure out how to move forward a tiny bit more.

yeh, it's awkard when a group is dedicated to pervasity and derision for it to do something meaningful and heartfelt for it's members. We just aren't built for consolation. But judging by the responses there is still humanity here and that is quite something in a group so disconnected by distance, jobs, social circles etc...
