Interesting that a small bird did this and looked to see the result. Predatory birds (hawks, falcons, eagles, etc.) will swoop down, pick up turtles, take them high up in the air and drop them over something hard. Then drop down and eat them. They do it to crack open the shells.
Pretty weird to see happen a few hundred feet down a country road you're driving on.

That's a "quaker parrot" and although not as big as other parrots, they are smart as fuck. My first wife had one and it had about a 200 word vocabulary and could even mimic her laugh. That shit was creepy. It would also entice people in saying "pretty bird, come here buddy" until you had a sense of safety and friendliness towards the bird and tried to stroke its chest or wing. Then...chomp motherfucker!
I think the parrot (or whatever) is just being a dick
Yup, my conure does this all the time. Simply to be a dick bag. "Oh this looks important, I will kick it off the table, or pick it up with my beak and drop it"
TV Remote, cup, cell phone etc. Whatever he feels like throwing off the table. Chucks it off the table, then looks down to admire his handy work.
And Mr. Gout, my little guy does the same thing. "come here, kiss kiss"
