I played Unreal after it had been out for a few years and didn't see what the big deal was.

People say years like it was 10 or something! It was only 2 years. It wouldn't have mattered much tho cause Quake (1996) sucked when compared to Doom which came out in 1993!

2 years is a long time when you talk about computer technology. I don't know, I liked Quake and Quake 2, but not as much as DOOM. And my computer couldn't handle Unreal when it first came out so I never really played. I'm hooked up now and just bought a new vid card. I need to try it out again. I'm just glad people are still playing DOOM!

I used to play Doom, but by the time Quake came out I got more into real-time strategy games, like Settlers and Command & Conquer, stuff like that.

hahahaha...i forgot Duke Nukem! wasn't there supposed to be another game?

anyone remember having to manually edit the config.sys and autoexec.bat?

shit yeah, I could never get it to work, I loved Duke3D, the stuff he'd say when you killed something, hilarious.

I like Quake2 the most out of all of them. DK3d was the best from back then even with worse graphics and crappy multiplayer support.

I really miss Rise of the Triad though. I can't find a working copy anywhere and my freaking disks are dead.

Standard load of every PC I use around home includes UT with about 2GB of maps. Plus CS1.3 and Diablo2.

UT2004 is sooo much better than UT3 too. UT3 is a big disappointment for me. Feels too much like Quake.

I'm stuck on Bad Company now. I just wish it was also for the PC.
