Waupaca County -

Almost three years after three Waupaca County men are arrested for allegedly running down and killing several deer with their snowmobiles, one of the men is sentenced for his role in the case.

Rory Kuenzi, along with his brother Robby and their friend Nicholas Hermes are accused of using their snowmobiles to round up and kill five deer on a snowmobile trail in what's been called a "thrill kill" back in January, 2009.

Tuesday, Rory Kuenzi, who is already serving a 23-year prison sentence for a drunk-driving hit-and-run death was sentenced for his role in the deer kill.

Prosecutors filed several charges in 2009 against the three suspects. A Waupaca County Judge threw out the charges, saying they were in conflict with state hunting laws. Then this past February, a state appeals court reinstated the charges.

There is definitely a link between sparsely populated areas with colder climates and serial killing.
