If you download the .rar file for an xbox1 game, for instance, from this page:

Is it simply a matter of burning a dvd with the image file (using Nero or Alcohol 120%)?

A google of my question yields "how tos" and forums discussing this, but they're all from 2004/05 and discuss needing to mod your console with a chip or something. Anybody have any idea?

Bottom line you will need to have your xbox modded to play burned games.

yea if you got a modded xbox, you can download all the rar files, extract to an iso and then burn with your nero

Thanks guys. Wasn't sure if the technology had bypassed the necessity of modding over the recent years since all of the info out there for the Xbox1 is a couple of years old now.
