Did Batman's voice bother anyone else in The Dark Knight?
Check out this amateur video that spoofs Bale's Batman voice in the dark knight. Some of you have probably seen it, but I thought it was pretty funny and well done.

First of all, I didn't really like Dark Knight for a lot of reasons. It was okay, but I think alot of elements were lacking (doesn't really have to do with this, but just saying) I completely hated it at first but then after I left the theatre realized it wasn't so bad, but the voice thing was one of the issues I had initially.
Regarding the voice this, it drove me fucking nuts through the movie, but when I thought about it after, I realized if he HADN'T done the voice, I know I would have been all "Oh bullshit, like people couldn't tell it was Bruce Wayne by the sound of his voice" and shit like that.
So therefore, I understand to a certain degree WHY they incorporated that into the role, but I think unfortunetly it came off as over acting.
But I am a cunt and in the end for me the only REAL Batman will be Adam West's pseudo homo version (come on now, we all saw it) or Michael Keaton.
*swoons*
Even though by today's standards and acting, Tim Burton's Batman would be the biggest piece of cinematic shit ever, but back then it was on another level.

His voice was deeper/raspier to try to tie in to the whole Dark Knight theme. Not only did Bale say all his lines in that voice, but the director actually digitally manipulated it to exagerate the effect. I guess they really wanted to bring out the dark side of Batman, and how close he was to being villian himself.

The original batman was written to be a character that relied on fear as his main source for respect. That being said, the only reason Bale's voice was so irritating in this mvoie is because in previous batman movies, we have been subject to smooth voices such as Kilmer and George Clooney, along with the classic Adam West. Those movies were nothing like the original batman , but are commonly contributed to the whole character. If you read the original comics, the batman from the dark knight follows closely the original tales of batman, and the character he was actually written to be. It makes sense for his voice to be deep and harsh because it is meant to inspire fear in his enemies.
