If you need me I'll just be circling the maternity ward, listening for screams with my glass ready in hand.

She might be the only NASCAR driver who is also very flexible. Google her yoga poses.

From someone who has been in that world, she will always be a mid-pack runner. She only won her lone indycar race on fuel mileage not on pure racing skill. Unless she lucks into a similar situation in a Cup race, she will never log a win.

Michael Waltrip won Daytona on a rain-shortened race -- he'll always be listed as a Daytona 500 winner -- no asterisk. Both Unser brothers got to 4 Indy wins the same way. Plenty of guys in NASCAR win fuel mileage races, Jimmy Johnson won his last race on lucky pit strategy, no one gives the guys the side-eye over that.
You're right tho -- she was a mid-pack racer in Indy and she's mid-pack in NASCAR. But she's still better than half the field, which is something imho.

Waltrip is a two time Daytona winner. He won the year Dale Earnhardt crashed and died. She is still a good driver but I think she has two things not in her favor. One she is female which a lot of NASCAR fans hate because they think she should be in the kitchen making sandwiches and fetching them more beer. Second her driving skills although good don't add up to the fame she has. here are the two best tits in NASCAR not necessarily in order

A lot of things come together to win in NASCAR. I think one of the most important things is a good crew chief. I don't think Jimmie Johnson is the best pure driver out there, but his crew chief, Chad Knaus, has sold his soul to the devil for unholy abilities in the garage and on the pit box. With NASCAR now so much like IROC, the right mix of crew chief, driver and team means more than the old days when guys like Dale Sr., Cale Yarborough and others were simply better (and sometimes meaner) drivers.
My hope when Danica came to NASCAR was that Tony Stewart, whom I actually believe really wants her to win (imagine the sponsorship money pouring in then) would find the right mix for her. May happen now with his retirement at the end of this season. May not. But I like having her in the sport all the same.
