Why they do that, I don't know but I suspect it's to try and cut down on paying people to upload pirated content since most pirated content (with the exception of music) is over 100MB.

alexa? what is it? i googled "alexa rapidshare" and all i got were files that had the name "alexa" available on rapidshare.

i didn't think it'd be hard to find the 12th most visited site on teh interwebs.

The discussion is pointless really... rapid and mega bith have their pro's and con's. I used to upload to rapid and switched to mega. I refuse to pay for the service and mega is better for the free user - that is why I made my choice. As a caveat, I must point out that I do not download much from either service but with Rapid capping their speed (free user), I could see a trend away from them.

You dont understand. That ranking is very very good. We spiked up to under 2,500 a couple times this year. it is an exponential scale..
