I would like to throw my two cents in on this topic.
I had a bad addiction that I couldn't kick on my own. I went through a state funded rehab program. It wasn't one of those fancy facilities that celebrities go to. You had to eat what and when they said to eat. You showered when they told you to shower. You shit when they told you could shit. It was one step up from jail. Anyways, that place saved my life.
I went through the whole phase of being so happy to have my life back and told everyone about it. Prior to being clean, my addiction was my life. After rehab, being clean was my life. I went through that phase and have seen others go through it.
I will probably get flamed for this but I have read comments about people just having self control. Self control is one thing but addiction is a disease. I know I made some really dumb, bad life choices but when I wanted to stop I couldn't.
