Basically, if you are paid/premium user with a lot of files, you will now be treated like a guest user.
On October 20, premium users with over 25mb hosted will have files that have not been dl'd in 90 days deleted. One of the main reasons for maintaining a premium account is to ensure that the files will be there.
Probably won't be maintaining RS and MU accounts much longer..

It's a 25GB limit of hosted files (which for me is about 350 files), and if you're over that they won't delete them if they've been downloaded in the last 90 days.
Personally, if it hasn''t been touched in 90 days, it's alright with me. I've already trimmed a few that I didn't care about and hadn't been accessed for months.
edit - and besides, I'm through posting for the mess a bitches in Park Bench.
Fine by you but shit for me - I have 2 RS acconts to the limit and I guess they want another. The long term integrity of my music files is very important to me whether someone DLs them or not. I will probably look into some online storage options that charge.a yearly fee.

So much for renewing my account. I've been setting up my files now for a few days from other online accounts to put on rapidshare, what a waste of time :
This will also compromise all past files, so if you're now searching something that's older or not well known you're even more screwed then when you started because those files will be gone likely
I really loved this part of their email-

You can't delete after carbonite backs your files up though. I don't remember if it's one or two weeks but when carbonite checks again for the files and they're not on your HD, it gets removed from your backup file.
I have been preaching Carbonite for the last couple months on DSF because it's perfect if your personal computer shits the bed but it is NOT an external HD.

Why not get a blueray burner and back them up on that? Or a DVD burner and use multiple disks? Then you don't have to worry about any online host going under or deciding that they're going to release the contents of your space to the RIAA/MPAA.
