I got them suckers in my backyard in the Bronx. Apparently 30 years ago, a shipment of parrots got loose in Kennedy Airport and they have established themselves in the area. When my pear tree starts producing fruit, they come everyday squawking and fussing, and chase all the other birds away. It's pretty funny. First time I saw them, I thought I was hallucinating.

And BTW: Foetus is right. Birds are not good pets unless you are going to socialize with it every day. They are very social creatures, and it is like putting them in solitary confinement. They are miserable, until they die of stress.
