have an ipod touch?

im thinking about buying my kids ipod touch's for xmas. just curious if any of you have one, and what you think about it.....

easy to use?
jailbroken? if so, was that easy?
any point in actually jailbreaking it....arent apps only 99 cents?
how do you watch movies on it?
does it connect easily to the wireless network in the house?

I have one, and absolutely love it. It's very user friendly. Mine isn't jailbroken....some apps are 99 cents, but some are more, but there are a ton that are free. Not to sound like an apple commercial, but there really is an app for anything you could ever imagine. It's pretty mind blowing how many apps there are. In my experience, many of the free apps are "lite" versions of pay apps. You can watch movies on it by importing them onto the ipod via a computer, just like you would import music on a regular ipod. It connects incredibly well to wireless networks. Setting up e-mail on it is so easy too.

how do you watch movies on it? BASICALLY DRAG AND DROP AN M4V VID FILE INTO ITUNES AND TELL ITUNES TO SYNC MOVIES. PRETTY SIMPLE.

does it connect easily to the wireless network in the house? YES NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM..

i have both an iphone and an touch and it is pretty easy to jailbreak. i used blackra1n to crack mine, it took all of 5 minutes and is free to do.

a nice thing with a jailbroken iphone or touch is you can add apps someone else downloaded without having to pay for them.

if you end up buying them and need some help, let me know and i can walk you through it

I have an iphone and I love the fucker. If you are giving itouchs to your kids consider squaretrade.com for insurance. It covers things Apple doesn't like broken screens and water damage (done both.)
Also although jailbreaking is easy I have no desire to own a $300 paperweight which my skillz would end up with. If you do be aware to change the password. Currently all iphones and touchs (I believe) have the same password and a hacker recently proved how easy it is to fuck with the software.

Just make sure when you buy a case for the touches that you consider a strong hardshell for them, my wife is a Klutz, and she has dropped hers on the floor, knocked it off the table, etc. etc. thank god i bought her a strong Lucite shell for her touch.

Otterbox makes bad ass cases for iphones/ipods etc. They are really rugged and supposedly waterproof. I wouldn't swim with it or any thing but a little water spillage an you would be safe.
I don't actually have one b/c i have an ipod classic but my sister has one for her iphone and the thing is bomb proof
