Oh boy, oh boy!
Because of the fantastic DVD sales and the cult-like following of the syndicated episodes on Comedy Central, the Fox network has placed an order for 26 new episodes of the animated sci-fi comedy series and the deal has gone through.
Very few details are available, but it is expected the entire original cast and core writing staff will return and the new episodes are slated to start running in mid-2010! As for the story, the first episode will take place right after the last DVD movie left off and creator David X. Cohen insists that the episodes will go back to a more comedic feel.
"What we will try to do is go a little bit back to pure comedy, characters and sci-fi," he says.
If it worked for Family Guy, no reason it shouldn't work again!
