Default 2010 Roush 427R

The Stage One program is mostly cosmetic, with a new front and rear fascia, front and side splitters, a three-part rear spoiler, and 18-inch chrome wheels with Cooper high performance tires. The Roush Stage One Mustang is priced at $34,847 MSRP.

Stage Two includes the ingredients of Stage One, and adds an all-new track-ready suspension package developed by Roush Performance. The new Roush suspension features upgraded front and rear sway bars, retuned springs and dampers, and upgraded disc brakes. A wheel hop reduction kit is included in the suspension package, which serves to keep the tires planted firmly on the ground. A Stage Two mustang starts at $36,221.

Rounding off this year?s lineup is the Roush 2010 427R Mustang, which features the Roushcharger, a supercharger that helps the 4.6-liter three-valve powertrain achieve 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Also under the hood, the 2010 427R has received a larger, upgraded intercooler, and an overall appearance that more closely resembles OEM material.

The 2010 427R was designed with some targets in mind. Roush pushed for a 0-60 time in the low four-second region, a quarter mile in the mid-12s, 60-0 braking in less than 115 feet, and a lateral acceleration of about 1.0 G on the skid pad. These number have not yet been confirmed, but the folks at Roush are confident the have achieved their mark.

This year?s 427R boasts ten percent better fuel economy than previous Roush Mustangs, keeping it out of gas guzzler tax territory (Roush estimates somewhere in the region of 22 to 23 miles per gallon). Officially, Roush claims a 38 percent reduction in tailpipe emissions, though the company says a 50 percent reduction is more realistic.

The 427R, Roush?s prime example of power, handling, and styling, will retail for $43,051, and the company expects to produce at least 2000 vehicles this model year. Although the Roush 2010 Mustang was not revealed until today, pricing was announced two weeks ago, and the vehicles are already sold out through the first two months of production.
