I've got a kindle II and I use it daily. At first I was turned off by the flash the e-ink makes when you change the page. I stopped noticing it about 10 minutes into reading a book. I download the hell out of books, convert them using calibre software (free) and read away. You can adjust the size of the type by pushing a button.
My friend who is a few years older than us has the 3rd generation which has a big ass screen. It was designed for textbooks so it is not small. The Kindle II's page is about the size of a paperback. Maybe a bit larger.
There are some great books in the parkbench already. PM me if you want to. Suffice it to say I really dig the kindle.
