McDonald County teacher charged regarding alleged past student relationship

McDONALD COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) — Investigators with the Sheriff’s office were made aware of a current teacher at the McDonald County High School that was alleged to have had an ongoing sexual relationship with a student in the past.
The findings were submitted to the Prosecutor who then filed 2nd Degree Statutory Rape charges to
Joelle Stark of Anderson, Mo.
A warrant for her arrest was issued on Friday and she turned herself in at the jail the following day. She then bonded $10,000 cash/surety on the charge and was released.
he McDonald County R-1 School District release a statement “Upon receiving this information, the district immediately placed the teacher on administrative leave, following standard policy and procedure.”
The district states they are fully cooperating with law enforcement and will continue to do so throughout the course of the investigation.
