have you ever noticed how the world has become a place where you are not allowed to have hurt feelings?

your 10 playing baseball, you are not allowed to hit homeruns now in parentpitch baseball. you dont get a win or a lose. there are no all-star teams anymore.

wh we used to have tract and field days at school everyone got a participant ribbon even if they we holding the water and couldnt play for some reason. but back when i was in shcool there was a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons then the rest got participant ribbons.

kids are not allowed to bring P&J samiches to school buz there are kids that allergic. when i was in school i knew a girl that was allergic and not once were we told we couldnt bring that type of samich. there are MLB ball parks that now have peanut free sections and some are starting to have peanut free days in the whole park.

just a couple example of the top of my head but i was wondering what the DSF fam has to say about this. also if you have more examples please post them up. I have listened to radio stations bring up some other stories and discuss and its been interesting to hear the other things that happen around the states and world

I don't know, my son's basketball team went undefeated last year and they got a nice trophy for it....bigger than all the others...

I don't know if I'd call not allowing peanuts/peanut butter PC. It's not like you're doing it to save someone's feelings or to be politically correct.

Yes, it is a shame we have so many more life-threatening allergies in children these days, it's something that needs to be addressed (as in, why are so many more kids allergic to peanuts now?), but I can understand why a school would want to protect itself and its students.

my kid played football for the area league & of course there was no keeping score, no winners/losers etc...we got him into a church league & they kept score & even had an all day playoff ( if you won you kept playing), but yes i agree back in the mid-late 80's when this bullshit started of not having any losers & everybody wins, they have actually interviewed the kids who went thru it & the kids have said it sucks because of course the world is not like that, & now they have to ajust to it because sports & parents have not properly prepared them for the real world!....i blame the bleeding heart librals & the minority, who end up scoring it up for the rest of us, its fuckin amazing how we have let the few rule the many!!

ya that allergy thing is also a pain in the ass even thou theres prolly one kid in the whole school whos allergic....god forbid he be made to feel different, so instead lets make everyone suffer so lil johnny, doesnt feel left out!

I agree. Dumbing things down, PC-ing everything, telling kids that they're all winners and giving stupid or lazy people as many chances as they want to not fuck things up is going to be the downfall of nations.

I refuse to be PC. I prefer to be frank and truthful with others, even if it means they don't like me. All of my close friends are the same. Of course, nobody is out to offend anyone intentionally, and we can all be diplomatic, but we don't mask our opinions whatsoever.

I'm not sure there are more kids with allergies, just more people making it a point to point it out.
