Banning people for requesting and not contributing
 

Just to be clear....when i ban someone for requesting too much the only repercussion is that they can't request anymore. That person is still able to come to the forum but he/she will not be able to log in, so it basically kills the ability to request.

If anybody sees n00bs that only request and never contribute, please PM me. I try to keep an eye out but there are simply too many users to keep track of now.

You must contribute...if you don't contribute in some way, shape, or form then you can't request.

Its fair enough banning people for requesting straight away.

The logic I think a lot of them have is that most of them have probably been reading the main DSF site for ages before they bothered trying the forum. Its not the sort of site you would go straight to the forums on without getting a feel for the main section first. So I dont think that many of them really feel like they are "noobs", so requesting doesnt seem like a big deal. Until they do it that is and everyone goes mental.

I agree with banning them if they are habitually requesting without contributing. It's a give and take thing, you need to add to the mix.

...and contributing doesn't have to be uploading. It could be just contributing to the conversations and commenting.

if people aren't involved in any way, why should any of us get involved in filling their requests?

Yeah, I'm trying to break out of the leech pattern I have fallen into lately.

I blame Ninja Gaiden 2, GTA 4, and my wife's increased sex drive.

I just add them to my ignore list. Once they are on they don't come off.

Am I on your ignore list?

All Honorable reason to be busy... Not sold on the first one but the last two i totally understand
