Even if youre not, does anybody know what you call an ankle sprain where you twist your foot clockwise or counter-clockwise versus rolling your ankle to the side?

i think it's just a twisted ankle??? Same as a "sprain"???

The only difference is that the cartridge gets damaged in the circular motion.

thanks choppie and doubledip, i have been at home for the past few days thanks to one and wanted to look up some additional healing techniques besides the usual rice stuff.

I'm a Paramedic but can't suggest anything more than maybe a soft or inflatable splint from CVS/Eckerds, ice 3-4 times a day and a NSAID for the swelling and pain. If you start seeing redness at the site or are tingling further down the foot from the sprain it is time to bite the bullet and head to the doc.

i went to a doctor already because of some severe swelling and bruising led me to believe i might have fractured something again (its happened in the past). well x-rays showed there was no fracture but it is a pretty severe sprain. i was referred to go see a podiatrist but i cant get in to see one till next week. thanks for the info though.

or soaking your "Dicken's Cider" or do what I do. Feel bad? Drink a beer. Still feel bad? Drink another beer.Still feel bad? Drink another beer. Still feel bad? Drink another beer. Still feel bad? Drink another beer. Still feel bad? Drink another beer. Keep going until you either feel better, or pass out...I swear, works EVERY TIME...
