By request: ask a black dude

Anything Eviltart wants....Eviltart gets. So some of yall know me some don't but I'm black, trust me! It never occured to me that people may have questions regarding me and people, but I can see that now. I'm 29 lived in ATL, Chicago, Philly, and reside in KC. I say that because i feel that i've been exposed to many sides of the black experience. I grew up in the hood, used to rap, do drugs, sold drugs, been shot at, got dead homies, homies locked up used to sag my pants, you know all the requirements to be hood certified. I now work in politics, and see a whole other side, but trust, i know where i came from, and still have many hood tendencies! I get on DSF mostly during the workweek, but i will respond to any questions.

ps. Ne other black folks free to chip in!

Nice.

Good to see you back Treblock!

(i know you never really left but you got kind of quiet for a while)

satan666 02-05-2009 01:15 PM

i actually have a lot of questions for you. Many are superficial questions but things i still want to know and some are deeper but i want to think about how to ask them without sounding like the obnoxious, idiot white guy. (although i may not be able to help that)

maxbailey 02-05-2009 01:17 PM

I'm pretty sure that this isn't the type of question that tart meant but: What made you change from hood to politics, was it a specific event or a gradual realisation kind of thing?

Really it was traveling. Growin up in the hood, intelligence is not celebrated. Being tough, mean mugging, doing drugs, playin chicks, frontin like you got money r really having it, thats whats celebrated. So it took me to get out that environment to finally change. I played football too. Sports helps alot of young black males get out the hood.

First good to b back, and thanks! Second...This is for everybody, i got really tough skin, and am not one of those 'angry black men', that being said, any question is welcome. I think thats a big problem sometimes, black people are so sensitive racially, that alot of question, stereotypes never get addressed. So bring it on!!!

Here's one

How do you feel about the "good" stereotypes?
Obviously negative stereotypes are for a-holes, but if people thought I had a big dick and was great at basketball and could run fast, I don't think I'd be too quick to correct them. Your thoughts?

Hahah...good one.

Treblock - do you appreciate the irony in me, hating Eminem, yet secretly listening/obsessing over every Wu Tang release? It pisses me off everytime I see his name on a 'top 10 rappers of all time' list.....but it's just as recockulous that I think I have an opinion.

Or does it piss you off that I even assume that you listen to hip-hop in the first place?

I've just confused myself. Will you be my friend? I need another black friend.:D Same goes for MHeat too, I need an Indian one.

Actually it can be kinda fucked up. I mean, sure chicks see u in da club and b like, i want the black guy with the big dick, and thatswhatsup, but its a lot of pressure. Especially when every black porno you watch, dude got like a 14 inch dick! I mean, its cool for me, but i bet some ' less than average brothas' probably got it bad! Just think, what if every chick you were about to fuck just expected you to bang that pussy up! Shit even Tiger misses to cut every now and then!

Thermos you good wit me! Assuming i listen to hiphop is cool, although some racially hypersensative blacks wont like it. I believe prejudices, and stereotypes are a way of life, and usually on point, but it should be a starting off point. You should be open and look to see if your prejudice is correct, and don't assume everybody fits.
As far as hiphop, i mean you deserve to have an opinion. White people made hiphop what it is by buyin da shit. I dont mind white folks having an opinion about hiphop, i just hate when white people try to really act like they get it, cuzz most of them don't.
