But he won the coin toss for starting QB

My Super Bowl prediction Pats over Cowboys
Media Choice... Packers vs. Jets?

SexyLion 09-02-2008 02:56 PM

Giant fan here, so I am not expecting anyone to think they will do anything this year. Cause as far as the world is concerned, they got lucky (by beating all the top teams).

wildebeast71 09-02-2008 02:59 PM

The Giants losing their D-line is really gonna hurt them.
By the way Green and Gold packer fan here... also hope Brett can carry the Jets.

Not as much as you would expect. They still have Tick and Kiwinuka, who will show people why he was a 1st round steal.

thermos 09-02-2008 03:02 PM

Eagles fan, reporting.....let the fun begin.

abitskrewd 09-02-2008 03:04 PM

Yes, you still have them but losing Osi and Strahan takes the line down a bit... plus Eli needs to show that the tail end of last year was not a fluke.

DSF Guest 6 09-02-2008 03:17 PM

BEARS fan!!! Still hurting over the loss to Colts in SB. Not optimistic about this season....maybe 4-12 if we're lucky!! Get that nice draft pick for '09!!!

abitskrewd 09-02-2008 03:20 PM

i just have a question for you as a bears fan....and you probably have no clue.....but what the fuck were they doing not trading up for a quarterback in the draft?

orton? grossman? why not go after vinny touchdown???

i wish i knew what was going on Angelo's mind. Now our first round pick is out for the year and we still have the same problem at QB. Damn you stop reminding me!!!

wildebeast71 09-02-2008 03:35 PM

Who are your playoff teams?
NFC
Cowboys - best team in the NFC
Packers - the bears and lions suck
Seahawks - players get holmgren to playoffs one more time
Bucs - or maybe the saints
Wildcard Giants and Saints/vikings
AFC
Pats - should have won last year
Steelers - Browns could challenge
Chargers - LT is just so good.
Colts - Jags could surprise
Wildcard Jags and Browns/Jets

salutationsb 09-02-2008 03:37 PM

I'm a Cowboys fan second...so right now, until the Dolphins get any better(in about 5 years?), I hope the boys get into the SB since they have the best chance.

And they will this year

DSF Guest 6 09-02-2008 04:45 PM

i am a dallas fan because of ROMO! Who graduated from EIU a year before I enrolled, but it was pretty cool having the same major as him and hearing all the teachers talk about "Tony"

Instead the Packers got drafted Brohm......so the Bears could watch him light up their secondary in the future, once Rodgers crumples under the pressure of being the first post-Favre Packer QB

I know, what's worse than the Bears not drafting him....the Packers drafting him....I just hope he's not doomed to a Tim Couch fate now....

effjay 09-03-2008 10:08 AM

Brohm is not going to be another Tim Couch. The pressure won't be on him like it was on Couch, plus, he's going intoa s ituation where the team is going to have a lot more talent around him. When Cleveland was brought back to the NFL they were an expansion franchise and had NOTHING in terms of a support cast. Brohm is going to have Ryan Grant, Greg Jennings, Ruvell Martin and Jermichal Finley, that TE out of Texas they drafted this year. Plus, he's dangerously accurat.e To me, he reminds me of a Drew Brees type QB when he was coming out of college. Dangerously accruate and enough arm to make you pay for it.

Shasturbator 09-03-2008 10:11 AM

I hope not....I thought Couch was going to make a decent QB after he got outta Cleveland....but the Packers just released him...makes you wonder if he was really that bad, or did Cleveland just ruin him?

I'm sorry Pat, I can't forgive you for this.

We could have coexisted as cubbie/phillie fans.....but not Romo/Eagles.

What major was that?

effjay 09-03-2008 02:18 PM

Pat, I've been a Cowboy fan for my entire life and all my boys called me CRAZY when I told them that the Cowboys signed this guy from EIU to their practice squad a few years ago, that he looked great in college and looked great in the preseason under Parcells. They all actually came out last year and said that maybe I was right about him, haha.

Shasta: Cleveland did ruin him. But then again, I think that a lot of QBs that go # 1 overall are going to have problems early on. That's a lot of pressure on a position that has so much built into it.

He is a EIU PANTHER! Tell your friends they owe you some beers. EIU tried getting him to come back for Homecoming but the Cowboys weren't on a bye but he did donate money to Athletics and the Communications Department, right after he signed his contract. Good guy and he is banging Jessica Simpson. What's not to like about him??

EIU pissed me off though because I wanted an EIU Romo Jersey so bad and you CAN get them--you just have to join the Athletics Club--for like $150!!! Assholes! They do sell EIU Romo jersey Shirts though. Probably get one those......im going down there this weekend actually ---who wants one!?!?

DSF Guest 6 09-03-2008 02:42 PM

another EIU tidbit---

Mike Shannahan--head coach of the Denver Broncos
Sean Peyton--head coach of the New Orleans Saints
Brad Childress- head coach of the Minnesota Vikings

ALL ARE EIU ALUM!

hell yes Heat, for a college of 12,000 kids that is always overshadowed by the mighty University of Illinois that resides 45 minutes north---to have 3 NFL head coaches and an Pro Bowl QB is pretty damn impressive!

effjay 09-03-2008 03:32 PM

An EIU Romo Jersey Shirt is awesome. I best get to googling and try and find one!

That's actually not too bad, I'll be grown-up enough to admit it.

I still think he's a ginormous pussy and generally want to hatefuck anything cowboy related.....but props to your school.

When is the first 'boys/beagles game? I need to check the schedule.

good luck, you can only get them from the EIU Athletic Dept. Beware of EIU Romo Jerseys on ebay...they're home made and not the real thing.

Espn

That fuckwad Gene Wojo on espn picked the eagles to win the NFC east.

I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad? I think they can, actually - but it all depends on which Donovan shows up.

Speaking of the worldwide leader - any other Bill Simmons fans on here?
