What was the first Concert you ever went to?

Mine was James Brown. My parents took me to the show when i was like 5years old. I remember getting a light up yo-yo

The Eagles, Hell Freezes Over Tour, at the United Center in chicago. It was 1994, and I was 10. Two guys in front of me were smoking doobies the whole night. i ended up falling asleep near the end of the concert, woke up during the encore. when I got home, all i could taste in my mouth was pot. i think that was the first time i got high.

Heart - but not overweight, 1980's Heart, but Dreamboat Annie, two sexy Wilson sisters Heart. I was 10.

The opening act was Black Oak Arkansas - Jim Dandy Mangrum in tights and nothing else (yuck) and Ruby Starr. I bet no one has any BOA to share!

JerryN 01-29-2008 10:55 PM

The Beach Boys on some reunion tour in like '95. I was just a youngster. I think Mike Love was the only actual Beach Boy in the band

Obbly 01-29-2008 11:03 PM

James Brown @ the DECC (Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center) 61 clicks of the bong bridge indeed. He was way old and totally danced for 2 hours. RIP.

tom 01-30-2008 04:10 PM

For me it was George Harrison (he had Ravi Shankar playing sitar) an amazing intro to rock.

towdog 01-30-2008 04:47 PM

Johnny Cash in 1975, then Aerosmith in '78. Angel opened for them. Loudest damn concert I've ever been to.

Saw an unknown band called Rage Against the Machine (and some other band?) open for House of Pain at the Troc in Philly during the winter of 1992. Great show and still the only concert I went to where the sprinklers went off in the middle of the show...and no they didn't stop for a second!

seanx 01-30-2008 09:42 PM

Judas Priest/Iron Maiden Cobo arena in Detroit. I was 13. Yes, it was as good as you might think it was. My hearing didnt come back for 3 days.

sort0008 01-30-2008 09:51 PM

My first concert was supposed to be Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters March 24, 2000. But I somehow won tickets to the Creed concert for March 23, 2000.
So embarrassing.. first concert: Creed.
A story that I won't be telling the kids.

I'm sorry Sir!

mud4blud 01-30-2008 11:39 PM

My first one was Garth Brooks. Some guy in a white suit was playing piano when it started and then Garth came out of a hole that opened up in the stage. I thought it was a pretty cool entrance at the age of 10.

Eazymeth 01-31-2008 03:08 AM

First show was my friends band, first big show was Radiohead in 2002 i think.
