Update Rewards - Avatars, Sig badges, Passwords, etc.
 

This post is to answer a lot of questions that i have answered over the years but are spread out all over the place.

As you know i have a system of incremental rewards here at DSF. I have put them in place one by one, without too much planning. Mainly, as i get the ideas for them, to be honest, so it has always kind of been a hodge podge of sorts. Well, here i will plainly state the "loose guidelines" for each.


I. Avatars [type of guideline: loose]


To get an avatar you generally must have over 200 posts. You'll get an avatar you must have -

Between 300 - 700 posts: If you are a big contributor/uploader/link poster
1000+ posts: If you are a "comment only" poster (which is still perfectly fine).

The numbers are not set in stone because i usually will look over your post history to determine at what point you should get an avy. Of course if i see someone doing a lot of comment spamming it might even take more than 700 posts to get one.

Wild Cards
A. If you post tits with a DSF sign or DSF written on them you will get an avatar no matter what your post count is. The tits can be any woman's except someone that has already posted their tits on DSF. If you are a woman, YES you may post your own to get your avatar. The picture has to be big enough so that i can validate the authenticity (no thumbnails) of it. If you plan to do this but don't want to post the tits in the pubic thread you can PM me the pics. After looking at them (and assuming they pass) i will allow you to post them in the private section.

B. Sometimes i will hand out "temp avatars". These are random. You can't ask for one.

Lastly, when you are awarded an avatar at this level you will get:

• An avatar of your choice - must be between 70 and 80 pixels wide/tall.
• Access to the private section

II. Sig Badges [type of guideline: strict]



1000 posts makes you eligible for a sig badge

You can read more about them here. The requirements are as follows. You must have at least 1000 posts to be considered for a sig badge. Once you have crossed 1000 posts i will look over your post history and see if you earned a sig badge in any of the categories. You may earn more sig badges in different categories even after the initial awarding of the sig badge. Read more here.

7/22/2012: I am currently going through the sig badges to make sure that everyone has the ones they deserve. Most of us are overdue. This is a work in progress. Also investigating ways to make new ones.



III. Custom User Titles [type of guideline: strict]



1000 posts makes you eligible for a custom user title

When you cross 1000 posts i will give you a custom User Title (title under your name). The title is chosen by me... often it is random but i try to keep them in the spirit of that user. You can't ask me for a specific title but you can often suggest one for someone else via PM.

IV. Smiley in Your User Title [type of guideline: strict]



5,000 posts gives you the option of having a smiley in your user title.

It can be up to 40x40 and can be animated (no file size restrictions).
There are thousands of smileys to choose from and there is surely one to fit every person's personality or mood.

Smileys must:

• be 40x40 or smaller
• if it is rectangular the dimensions can exceed 40x40 pending my approval
• the term "smiley" loosely refers to a smiley face but can be any small character or cartoon (no real pics)

V. Larger Avatar [type of guideline: strict]



10,000 posts gives you the option of a larger avatar.

At this point you may choose an avatar up to 95x95 pixels (or thereabouts if it is rectangular)



VI. Self Chosen Custom User Title [type of guideline: strict]



12,500 posts gives you the option of having whatever you want in your user title. No longer will you be subject to my whim when it comes to your user title. You can change it as often as you want. It can say whatever you want it to say (within reason).

7/22/2012: I'm not sure if this was ever even implemented for anyone. It was definitely stopped after a point. I don't believe we are going to bring this back if so.


VII. Next Larger Avatar [type of guideline: strict]



15,000 posts give you the option of having an avatar up to 110x110 pixels (or thereabouts if it is rectangular).



Again, these are the guidelines as of July 22, 2012. I have resized everyone's avatar to properly categorize them to how they should be sized based on your posting level as of 7/22/2012. If you do not like the clarity of your avy, pm me as I have a backup of your last avy.

We have done this to protect the women who have been gracious enough to post pictures of themselves here. They have been asking for it to be done and I have obliged.

IF YOU think you are a contributor to this forum and deserve to know the password, PM me with a request. I will look at your post count and look over your posts. If you are a true DSF'er then i will give you this password.

Actually it's not commitment for one badge, I just have no video's, movies or music to share cause most of my collection came from here. I would add to all the different sections if i had stuff that wasn't already posted

It's just that she posted a pic... then i told her if she posted another with DSF written she'd get an avatar. So when i noticed that she was covering nips i felt it was my fault for not telling her that. I didn't want to make her take a 3rd pic.

I agree. Thats why i always look over someone's posts before giving an avatar. I look for the ratio of comments vs. uploads. Thats how i determine quality and quantity.

Pure comments = 600+ posts for an avy

Links / uploads = 200 - 400 posts for an avy

Thats why I was at nearly 1,000 before I got mine.

Irony is I have posted more links / uploads since I got it then I ever did before!

Hmmm, I need to find more music to upload. The problem with dsf is that most of the well known names are already covered, although I'm not really sure that's a problem.

A lot of the popular bands have their links removed so you could always update dead links in threads. Ah personally cannae be arsed.

I try to do that whenever I find a dead link. Back to searching I guess.

For what it's worth Sal, I think you've done real well with music contributions, and the only bit of advice I could have if you're looking for more shares would be to find a theme. The most popular new releases get pounced on by guys like Nachos and myself, so it's hard to compete sometimes with whoever's trolling the releases at the time; so I say find a pet genre/compilation and own it. Shoe's got his Laibach thread, Carajas and Godfather seem to have a couple pets, and the Hook looks like he found one in Tiesto. I started Hawaiian a while back and it got decent hits.
Just do me a favor and copy individual artists to their own threads if you set up a genre thread (like Cat Stevens goes in both his own, and Hippie threads); it makes organizing & searching alot easier.
Otherwise, I dig your shares so far, so keep it up.
