Do you think you are smart?
 

I know this guy who is not only in Mensa but also in Intertel.
Only 1% of Mensa people can get into Intertel....it's the smartest of the smart people.

I feel even dumber than ever when i am around him but he's a real social leper which makes me feel a little better about myself because i am a little less so.

So, do you consider yourself to be "smart".

Explain why you think you are/aren't smart.
And/or what do you consider "smart" to be?

I don't think I am all that smart. Intelligence is over rated and I don't believe there is an accurate gauge of intelligence and "smarts" anyway.

I think I am smart in certain areas, history, some math, Pop culture. But then again, there are some areas where I am as dumb as a box of rocks.

i think i'm intelligent, but not knowledgeable. i don't know a lot, but i know how to use what i got.

Smart is such a relative term. I'm confident that I can walk into any room with anyone and have an intelligent conversation. I think there are certainly people out there who are far more intelligent than I am, but I think I have a nice balance of intelligence and social skills. I've had a lot of experience dealing with some people who are so smart, it seems they have trouble expressing their thoughts (although this could be the social leper aspect as well).

I consider myself smart because I'm arrogant.

Not blowing my own trumpet, but apparently I am in the 98th percentile for IQ in Australia, but Im just too fucking lazy to put it to good use.

I'd drive out of bed if I could, I am that lazy.

I dropped out of school in the 7th grade and i always tested in the lowest brackets in school. I can hold a great conversation IRL and i can pick up hot chicks form bars...thats all i got.

i have a lot of common sense, i can talk religion and politics for hours, im really good at basic math, the math you actually use on a day to day basis which i think is important, i just dont think i have the attention span for college or a real job :(

I would consider myself smart. I have always excelled in mathematics and science. Back in school reading was never my forte but I have improved my reading skill over the years. In high school I graduated number 15 out of 425 graduates. My freshman electrical engineering class in college started with 87 students. Out of those 87 students only 19 of us went on to graduate in electrical engineering.

I'm pretty dumb....wait i think i mentioned that already.

But i know a couple of real smart people who can't hold jobs either and live in abject poverty so i don't feel so bad for my situation.

I know one guy who is really smart....so smart that whenever he gets a job he loses all respect for his boss because he always says they are dumbasses. So he cops an attitude and eventually gets fired. He's always asking me to borrow money because he cant pay his bills...not very smart.

I know a girl who's really smart that has such low self-esteem that she can't ever get hired anywhere.

I am a classic underachiever...so, I guess I am smart (I know something about pretty much anything, and nothing about everything)...if it was not for spell check you would think I was sitting in my own poop with drool coming out of my mouth...
