I don't do rebates. I don't consider rebates when I compare prices because I never seem to get around to sending them in on time and it takes 8 weeks or so to get the benefit. I believe those people know I won't send it in and they laugh. Fuck you rebate people.

I so agree. You fuck up one step and no rebate for you.

If you had posted this yesterday you could have gotten 5 dollars back.

And they would have had your receipt with all your other purchase info on it. Which screws you up if you ever need to return another item on the receipt, since it was sent in.
I think they want your purchase history as much as "giving" you some cash back. Just take the $5-10-whatever off the damn purchase price and make my life easier, huh?

I bet companies pay out on less than 20% of the eligible rebates

I had rebates from Office Depot for 3 reams of paper which took 5 months. It took 3 months for them to send an email that they are in the process of seeing the 3 forms for each ream plus the receipt were legit and another month or 2 to say they're in a process of sending a check. I think it's their ploy hoping customers will just give up or forget about those advertised rebates.
