LOCKHART, Texas - The Lockhart Police Department said a female teacher at Lockhart High School has been charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a male student.

Police said Sarah Fowlkes, a high school science teacher, was "engaged in sexual contact" with a 17-year-old at the school.

According to Lockhart ISD, district officials were told of the report on Friday, March 10 and police immediately began an investigation.

According to a district press release, police determined that a male student had been in contact with Fowlkes in person and by message.

A warrant was issued for Fowlkes' arrest on Monday and authorities said she turned herself in.

The superintendent emailed LHS parents notifying them of the arrest and the immediate suspension of Fowlkes:

Dear LHS Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to you with very upsetting news. Today, local law enforcement arrested Sarah Fowlkes, a teacher at LHS, for an improper relationship with a student.

On the afternoon of Friday, March 10th, the LHS administration received a concerning report. The principal notified district administration, and we immediately contacted law enforcement and Child Protective Services for investigation.

Fowlkes will not return to the school district. The district is sending notice of the conduct to the State Board for Educator Certification.

Every day, you trust your children to our care, and it is a responsibility we do not take lightly. As a parent of a Lockhart ISD student, I join you in feeling anger and disappointment in what happened. As an administrator, I will always take swift action against anyone who would violate the sacred trust between students and educators.

Fowlkes had been with the Lockhart Independent School District since Oct. 2014.

After a month-long police investigation, a 25-year-old math teacher at a North Carolina private school has been arrested for and charged with allegedly having sexual encounters with three students. The boys — minors, aged 17 and 16 — are all students at Rocky Mount Preparatory in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, where Erin Elizabeth McAuliffe taught until she was fired early last month.

McAuliffe began working at the school as a math teacher in 2016. She was arrested and charged officially this past Thursday, according to a report from the Rocky Mount Telegram newspaper. Local police charged McAuliffe with “three counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of indecent liberties with a minor.”

Rocky Mount police have stated their investigation into the situation began when the school reported an inappropriate relationship to authorities on May 5, 2017. After conducting interviews with staff and students, McAuliffe was subsequently arrested and charged. As detailed in the Daily Mail, McAuliffe was reportedly fired a day before the police were sent tips on her alleged activity.

According to information available on her various social media profiles, McAuliffe is a native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and graduated from the local public high school in 2010. Following high school, she attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she was a member of the math club and the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority.

At the time of this writing, McAuliffe was being held under $20,000 bail and in custody at the Carteret County jail. She has a court appearance date of June 12.

If McAuliffe is found guilty of her charges, she could be facing up to five years in prison.

It's not often that it happens, but sometimes the title tells the whole story: 24-year-old teacher’s aide Alexandra Culhane was arrested this past Monday after allegations surfaced that she had slept with a 15-year-old student at the Schenectady school she taught at prior to being fired, The School at Northeast.

According to Daily Mail, Culhane had oral and vagina intercourse with the unnamed student in early April 2016 in the Schenectady Central Park (not to be confused with NYC’s Central Park, which is full of homeless people blowing each other for crack rather than sad teachers blowing kids for daddy’s missing validation.) The allegations against her first came to light after other teachers at The School at Northeast contacted police once they heard about the supposed rendezvous with the student. Police reportedly investigated the alleged incident for months prior to arresting Culhane, however the school wasted no time in putting her on administrative leave at the beginning of the investigation, followed by her eventual firing in February 2017.

A married US teacher is accused of having sex with an 18-year-old special needs student, complaining to another student her husband was no longer intimate with her.

Laura Ramos, a 31-year-old special education teacher at Central High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut admitted to police she had sex with the teen "a handful of times" in her car, court documents reveal.

A fellow student, identified as Witness 1, noticed the teacher and the teen “make eyes at each other like flirting,” and the behavior was reported to school officials, according to local media.

The witness also told how his teacher initially started texting him “as a normal teacher helping a student,” but the messages soon became more of a personal nature.

An arrest warrant detailed how Ms Ramos told Witness 1 she was starved of sex at home, local news WFSB reported.

“Ms Ramos would complain that her ‘man’ or ‘guy’ does not want to have sex or do anything with her,” according to the arrest warrant.

The student also provided detectives text messages his teacher had sent him, which included asking about buying marijuana, and others that were sexually explicit.

Ms Ramos did not identify the alleged victim, however, the witness claimed the other student involved was an 18-year-old special education student at the school.

“Witness 1 noticed the victim would hang out in Ms Ramos’ class and… would watch them make eyes at each other like flirting,” according to court documents.

The teacher initially told police she had a close relationship with the alleged victim, but denied having a sexual relationship with him. But she later admitted to having sex with him a “handful of times” from December last year to April, the arrest warrant stated.

Ms Ramos was charged with second-degree sexual assault and released on $50,000 bail to appear in court on June 28.

She was placed on leave by the school district, who had begun termination proceedings before the former teacher submitted a letter of resignation on June 20, school officials said.

A female substitute teacher has been arrested and charged with alleged sexual contact with a 17-year-old student in Missouri.

Loryn Barclay, 24, has been charged with purportedly having sex with the student in his car and at his home on numerous occasions between November 2016
and January 2017.

She has been charged with six counts of alleged sexual contact in two Missouri counties, according to The Monett Times newspaper.

A local police officer who also serves at the school, Jay Jastal, was tipped off about the possible relationship.

Mr Jastal said Ms Barclay reportedly told him she was in fact involved in an "inappropriate relationship". He said he does not believe at this time that any other students were involved with the teacher.

"When we became aware of potential involvement with a student, we followed all procedures by informing the Children's Division," Superintendent of the Monett school district Brad Hanson told the newspaper.

"We had a conversation with her and she was not employed from then on. We learned about it the day of her exit as an employee. We dealt with it swiftly," he said.

The county prosecutor pressed charges against Ms Barclay and was released on $25,000 bail for the Lawrence County charges. She is yet to be arrested in Barry County and has a $10,000 bail for those charges.

Ms Barclay is due in court on 24 July in Lawrence County.

A Beaumont Unified School District English teacher has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation with one of her students after detectives discovered evidence that the woman had an improper relationship with the minor for several months, authorities say.

Samantha Lee Ciotta, 32, of Banning, who is also the school’s head cheer coach, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon and is being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility near Banning.

Beaumont police detectives began investigating the alleged sexual abuse after receiving a tip.

“During the investigation the victim recently disclosed to detectives there has been unlawful sexual intercourse occurring for the past few months by a teacher who works at the Beaumont High School,” investigators said in a statement,Detectives said they gathered evidence of “inappropriate communications between the teacher and student through various messaging platforms.”

She was immediately placed on leave by the Beaumont Unified School District when the investigation began and the school district has fully cooperated in the criminal probe police said.

Ciotta, a Fullerton native, has been a credentialed teacher since 2010.

A former substitute teacher and girls soccer coach in Michigan is accused of having sex with a teenage student, according to multiple local media reports.

Allyson Moran, 26, faces charges of sexual assault involving a student, after authorities say she had sex with a high school boy at least twice in her home in April, the Lansing State Journal, Detroit Free Press and Herald & Review report.

Moran was arraigned Tuesday and released from custody after posting bond, according to the news outlets, which cited authorities and court records. Her attorney, Daniel Reynolds, declined to comment Wednesday.

At the time of her alleged crime, Moran was teaching chemistry and coaching a girls’ soccer team at Stockbridge High School, according to the State Journal.

The school directed comment to Stockbridge Schools Superintendent Karl Heidrich, who did not immediately return a request for comment.

However, in a statement to the Herald & Review, Heidrich said Moran is no longer with the district “in any capacity.”

A former Douglas S. Freeman High School teacher pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of having sex with a 15-year-old boy who had been a student at Freeman.

Ashley Leigh Weber, 31, entered her guilty pleas to misdemeanor charges of having sex with the boy in 2016 after the school year had ended.

She was sentenced to 12 months in jail for each of the two misdemeanors, but a judge suspended all of the jail time for one of those counts.

That leaves a 12-month sentence, but prosecutors expect she will ultimately serve about half of that time because defendants in misdemeanor cases often serve 50 percent of their sentence.

Stacey T. Davenport, an assistant commonwealth’s attorney, said Weber met the victim during the 2015-16 school year.

At some point during the summer of 2016, Weber took the boy to her parents’ home in Henrico, where they had sex, Davenport said. At the time, Weber was 30 and the boy was 15, the prosecutor said.

Weber’s pleas on the charges were part of an agreement with prosecutors. A felony charge accusing Weber of using a communications device to propose a sex act with a minor was withdrawn. Prosecutors have collected a “large volume” of communications between Weber and the boy but ultimately felt they did not have the evidence they needed to prove that specific charge, Davenport said during the hearing.

Weber declined to make a statement when Judge Margaret W. Deglau asked her if she wanted to address the court. Deglau was clearly upset by the case and was particularly shocked that Weber took the boy to her own parents’ home.

“This was a victimization,” Deglau said. “You are a person who could have made a great change in his life, positive change.”

After the judge accepted the plea agreement, she ordered that Weber not be allowed to have any contact with the boy. Weber was taken into custody following her court appearance.

Andy Jenks, a spokesman for Henrico Public Schools, said Weber no longer works in the school system but declined to comment further.

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR/SBG) - A 30-year-old Milton woman faces a felony charge for having sex with a 14-year-old. Tracie Casler, who was 29 at the time, had a child nine months later, according to an investigation.

An investigator went to Escambia County High School to interview the teen in October. In a sworn statement, he said he and Casler had sex at her house after a Halloween party in 2016.

According to the report, the teen said he "put moves on her" because he was "messed up" from the party. He told the deputy this was the only time they'd engaged in sexual intercourse.

Investigators with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office began looking into the case this year after Casler gave birth in July.

The Department of Children and Families performed a DNA test on the child in September, however, due to Florida public record laws, this information is not available to media at this time.

Casler was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail on Nov. 9 for felony lewd and lascivious behavior, victim age 12 to 16. She remains in jail on a $30,000 bond.

CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) – A 23-year-old teacher at a high school in Concord was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly having a inappropriate relationship with a male student.

According to the Concord Police Department, Katherine Ross Ridenhour, who worked at Cox Mill High School, was reportedly engaged in a relationship with a 17-year-old student. She was charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a student.

“I can’t even wrap my head around how disturbing it is, and why it keeps happening. How far do they go to a teachers background? Are they going to make sure we’re not letting teachers inside our school with our child?” parent of Cox Mill High School student Kim Ouimet said.

“Yeah we had a lot of things in common because she’s like 5 years older than us. I feel bad for her because she did one mistake and she messed up,” student Martin Higdon said.

Police were notified of the alleged relationship on Monday.

According to the school’s website, Ridenhour was the Junior Varsity cheerleading head coach. A spokesperson with Cabarrus County Schools said Ridenhour resigned from the school district on Tuesday.

Ridenhour started working for the district in August 2016 as a family and consumer science teacher at the high school, the spokesperson said.

Concord police confirmed that one of the incidents Ridenhour is charged for, occurred on campus

No other information has been released.

Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr told Fox 45: "Teachers are entrusted with the responsibility of educating children who are becoming young adults.

"This defendant took advantage of her position and developing a sexual relationship with minor students."

According to state records, Marx was issued a four-year teaching license last year.

Staff at Fairmont High School in Kettering, Ohio, called a detective straight away after hearing about the alleged affair.

Its school superintendent Scott Inskeep said every substitute teacher is subject to the same vetting process as regular teachers.

He said: "I can ensure that 99.9 percent are doing it the right way, and doing it appropriately.

"We became aware the teacher was possibly involved with inappropriate activities with a juvenile.

“When we become aware of them, then we will remove those people and not have them around our students."

Marx, who is facing two counts of sexual battery, was released from Montgomery County Jail yesterday.

She must live with her father while the case is pending, according to court records.

In her application for a teaching job at a different school she wrote how she had worked with special needs pupils since high school.

She added: “I am passionate about children and their education.

“I am a hard-worker, who focuses on individual student’s strengths and needs."

Texas Teacher Arrested for Picking Up Student at Chick-fil-A, Banging Him in Parking Lot

A Texas history teacher was arrested this week and charged with sexual assault with an ex-student after meeting up with him at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant.

According to court records, Michelle Schiffer has been charged with engaging in an improper relationship with a student who is now 16 years old.

He was 15 at the time of the sexual encounter.

Schiffer is 23.

The teacher told authorities that she met the unnamed student at the aforementioned fast food restaurant before they went to a friend’s home to have sex.

The student, meanwhile, told authorities that Schiffer picked him up once at a park in her car - and then the inappropriate twosome drove around the neighborhood before having sex in a parking lot.

This second allegation was reported by local TV station CW39.

The same network adds that Schiffer and the student had sex on multiple occasions.

Schiffer teaches world history at Cypress Springs High School in Cypress, Texas.

She was ordered to appear in court on Wednesday to face her charges, while a judge has set bond at $30,000.

Official records indicate that Schiffer posted the amount later that day and is now a free woman.

Having admitted that she also smoked marijuana with this student in the car, it's also safe to classify her as a messed up woman.

The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District has said in a statement that the 23-year old was immediately removed from campus and placed on administrative leave once they learned of the charges.

We'd have to imagine she'll soon be fired.

“We will continue to protect our students and not tolerate relationships of an inappropriate nature,” the statement reads.

No word on the scandal from Chick-fil-A, although there's no real reason for the chain to speak out.

A 28-year-old teacher has been arrested after she allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old student in a park this past spring, police in Solebury Township, Pa., said.

Former Pennington School teacher Alyssia Marie Reddy was arrested on Friday, authorities say. The school is located in Pennington, New Jersey.

Solebury Township police said that last month they got a report of an alleged spring 2017 sexual assault, which took place in a park. The investigation determined that Reddy allegedly had sexual intercourse with the student.

Reddy is living in the Baltimore area.

She was arrested Friday for institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility and corruption of a minor, the Solebury Township police department release said.

She’s being held in Baltimore City, while waiting to be extradited to Pennsylvania, police say.

The Pennington School said in a letter to parents that it had been “recently made aware of an alleged inappropriate relationship involving a former Upper School teacher of The Pennington School in the 2016-17 school year,” the Trentonian reported.

The school said that “the matter was promptly reported to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s office.”

Reddy also has been fired from her job at St. Paul’s School for Girls in Maryland, Fox 43 reports.

“We have just learned that one of our Upper School teachers, Alyssia Reddy, who joined our faculty this year, has been charged with a felony involving sexual assault of a minor,” head of school Penny B. Evans said in a letter obtained by the station.

“The alleged events took place in Pennsylvania this past school year with a male high school student before she came to St. Paul’s School for Girls.”

She said that Reddy has been fired from the school and banned from the campus.

“Before today, we had no information suggesting any prior improper conduct by Mrs. Reddy,” she said.

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - A former Ripon High School teacher has been charged with child enticement and sexual assault of a student by school staff, accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.

A newly filed criminal complaint obtained by Action 2 News details the charges against Samantha Fitzpatrick, 28.

Fitzpatrick appeared in court via video Wednesday. The court set a $1,000 bond, which was posted Wednesday. The court scheduled a preliminary hearing for Jan. 5.

On April 24, Ripon Police received a tip from someone who said she had information about an "inappropriate relationship" between a high school teacher and a student.

Police spoke with another teacher at the school who told them she noticed the victim was in Fitzpatrick's classroom a lot. When the victim was in Fitzpatrick's class, he would sit next to her at her desk and she would talk with him instead of the class.

This teacher said she had heard from another student that the victim had told people he had sex with Fitzpatrick at her residence.

Another student told police that the victim and Fitzpatrick had "done stuff" at a hotel in Ripon. This student also told investigators that he had given rides to the victim to a gas station near Picket. The victim told his friend that Ms. Fitzpatrick was going to be picking him up there.

Fitzpatrick denied having an inappropriate relationship with the student or contacting him via social media apps. However, police say they found "extensive electronic communication by phone including the use of Facebook Messenger," according to the complaint.

The victim denied having a relationship with Fitzpatrick. He told police that she had given him rides and he had joked about having sex with her.

Phone records show 67 phone calls from the victim's phone to Fitzpatrick's phone. The victim's phone number had been deleted from Fitzpatrick's phone, but investigators were able to extract data.

Officers were able to view Facebook messages between Fitzpatrick and the victim. The messages were sent between Nov. 2016 and May 2017.

The criminal complaint states that an officer saw "sexually graphic messages" between Fitzpatrick and the victim. The messages include descriptions of sex acts they would perform on each other.

Some messages refer to apparent sexual encounters between the teacher and the student.

In some messages, Fitzpatrick expresses her love for the victim, according to the complaint. In one set of messages, Fitzpatrick appears to be soliciting sexually-explicit images from the victim.

Fitzpatrick resigned from Ripon High School in May.

An arrest warrant was issued on Dec. 5. That's when the criminal complaint was filed.

On Dec. 6, the Ripon Area School District issued this statement to parents:

“In May of 2017, the district shared the attached information with high school parents about an investigation regarding allegations of improper conduct by former employee Samantha Fitzpatrick. We are sharing this information with all district parents today as we are aware the investigation involving former employee Samantha Fitzpatrick is complete and a criminal complaint with charges has been issued. We have just received this information and will respond once we have an opportunity to review and understand the criminal complaint.”

In May, the district sent a letter to parents saying that Fitzpatrick had voluntarily resigned "after the administration addressed concerns about her unreliable attendance."

Statement sent to parents in May:

"The Ripon Area School District does not typically comment on personnel matters. However, under the circumstances, we think it is important to address some of the inaccurate information and rumors about the recent resignation of Samantha Fitzpatrick from District employment. As explained in a message to the parents of students in Ms. Fitzpatrick’s classes, she voluntarily resigned from employment effective May 3, 2017, after the administration addressed concerns about her unreliable attendance. Any suggestion that her resignation was based on another reason or that she was fired is simply inaccurate.

In December 2016, the District investigated allegations of improper conduct by Ms. Fitzpatrick unrelated to her attendance. At the conclusion of the investigation, the District notified the City of Ripon Police Department and other relevant parties of the allegations. The City of Ripon Police Department and the Ripon Area School District concluded there was insufficient evidence to open a police investigation. It is our understanding that new information was recently shared with the City of Ripon Police Department and they are conducting an investigation. The District will cooperate with that investigation as requested and permitted by law.

When rumors and other unsubstantiated information about current or former District employees is repeated and otherwise spread throughout the community, including on social media, it is likely to have a negative impact on the District, our students, and our community. As the 2016-17 school year comes to an end, we want to focus on the outstanding contributions and efforts of our students, especially our graduating seniors, and our staff members. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support for our District.

Former Middle School Teacher Charged With Having Sex With 14-Year-Old Student

Jessica Langford, 32, allegedly had oral sex and intercourse with a student at Miamisburg Middle School in May, the Dayton Daily News reports. She was indicted in late November, after asking prosecutors to name her accuser and specify the allegations.

Court documents did not specify the student’s gender or age, but prosecutor Mathias Heck Jr. said in a statement that he is a 14-year-old boy, according to the Daily News.

Langford had been a teacher at Miamisburg since 2008, according to the Daily News. She resigned after her accuser came forward in May.

A booze-loving Bronx high school teacher accused of performing oral sex on a 14-year-old student denied the charges Saturday.

Dori Myers, 29, was released without bail after pleading not guilty to a single count each of criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child.

Myers, a teacher at the New School for Leadership and the Arts in Kingsbridge, was hit with a 30-day order of protection requiring her to steer clear of the victim.

Manhattan prosecutors say Myers — who posted a photo of herself on social media wearing a white tank top with the phrase “Whisky makes me frisky” — abused the student on Nov. 1.

She was arrested Friday at the site of the alleged attack on 168th St. and Broadway in Washington Heights, authorities said.

Investigators learned about the abuse after the teen victim told a classmate, who notified the principal, cops said.

Sources said Myers, who started teaching at the school in 2014, lives in Rockland County with her husband who works in law enforcement.

Defense lawyer Andrew Stoll described her as a model educator who poured her heart and soul into the school.

Myers had no previous disciplinary history at the school or prior arrests.

“My understanding is she’s a really outstanding teacher,” Stoll said, noting that she launched the school’s track team and regularly worked extra hours.

“It sounds like no good deed goes unpunished. You reach out to make yourself available to kids, and the next thing you know, a single accusation can destroy your career.”

No one answered the door at an address listed to Myers in Garnerville, Rockland County.

A neighbor who lives nearby said he was shocked by the allegations. “She's a sweet girl — that does surprise me,” said the man, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

“She's a very nice, great girl. Quiet.”

Department of Education spokesman Doug Cohen called the allegations “deeply troubling” and said Myers was “reassigned away from students.”

She pulled down her social media accounts Saturday.

They included a shot of her holding a bottle of champagne in one hand and a glass of bubbly in another. She’s seen wearing a tank top that reads, “Champagne all day.”

Another photo shows Myers posing with her husband at a holiday party — with the hashtag “policewifelife.”

Engaged Ohio Teacher Had Sex With 13-Year-Old Female Student From Her School

An Ohio teacher was sentenced on Wednesday to three years in prison for sexual battery after she pleaded guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old female student.

Brooke Rosendale was a fifth grade intervention specialist and a girls volleyball and basketball coach at Riverdale School in Ohio. According to an arrest report obtained by PEOPLE, Rosendale had sexual contact with the teen in January and February of 2017. The incidents did not happen on school grounds.

According to the arrest report, Rosendale was not the girl’s teacher, but they had met through the school’s extracurricular programs.

Rosendale, 27, was engaged to her long-term boyfriend when the incidents occurred.

In March 2017, the teen’s parents reported the incidents to the school district. After the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office launched a criminal probe, Rosendale resigned from her position. She has also relinquished her teaching certificate.

Rosendale was initially charged with three counts of sexual battery, a third-degree felony. Under a plea agreement on January 26, she has been found guilty of one count of sexual battery. The other two counts were dropped.

After her release, Rosendale will register as a Tier 3 sex offender and will no longer be able to work with children. She must also pay $225 in restitution to the family of the student.

In court on Wednesday, Rosendale apologized for her actions. The parents of the student appeared in court, but opted not to make a statement to the court.

“I want to apologize to the family,” Rosendale said in court. “I know I hurt them and I apologize.”

Rosendale’s attorney, Peter Halleck, did not immediately return PEOPLE’s call for comment, but he told the court that his client accepted responsibility for what she had done. He said that she was remorseful for her actions.

The presiding judge seemed unmoved by Rosendale’s apology. Hancock County Judge Reginald Routson questioned whether Rosendale fully understood the gravity of her actions. He cited a letter that she had written to the court, which he said indicated that she minimized her responsibility and placed some of the blame on the student.

“You stepped across a line, a taboo that cannot be violated,” Routson told Rosendale. “There cannot be any sort of relationships between teachers and students and you betrayed a very important trust.”

A 26-year-old woman who had just quit her job as a middle school teacher in Florida was arrested Wednesday for allegedly having a secret sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy, police said. The

Volusia County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that the teen said Stephanie Peterson also sent him nude photos.

Peterson, also known as Stephanie Ferri, was arrested on two counts of lewd or lascivious battery and one count of transmission of harmful materials to a minor, the sheriff's office said.

She was booked into a county jail, and an online inmate search showed that she remained in custody Thursday morning. Her charges carry $25,000 bond.

Investigators believe the relationship started in November. Sheriff Michael Chitwood told CBS Orlando affiliate WKMG-TV that the teen, who police only identified as an 8th grader, was Peterson's student last year and became her teacher's aide this year.

The teen told detectives on Tuesday that Peterson would occasionally pick him up at his home around 11 p.m. and drop him off between two and three hours later. The police were called after the teen told his parents about the relationship.

The teen told investigators that Peterson would give him marijuana and that his grades fell after the relationship began.

Peterson told the teen that the relationship had to be a secret or they would get into trouble, the sheriff's office said.

Peterson quit her job at New Smyrna Beach Middle School on Monday, the sheriff's office said, citing the school district. WKMG-TV reports that she was a science teacher.

Brittany Zamora has gained viral infamy this week, with pictures of the 27-year-old teacher spreading across the internet after allegations that she had sex with her 13-year-old student — including having oral sex with him inside an elementary school classroom.

The Arizona woman was arrested this week for a series of incidents that allegedly took place between February and March of this year, the Arizona Republic reported. The 13-year-old student reportedly told police that Zamora began flirting with him in a classroom chat group and eventually sent the young boy a naked picture of herself.

The relationship escalated and eventually became physical, with the pair having sex and exchanging racy messages, the New York Post reported. It came to an end when the parents of the boy discovered the text messages through an app they had installed to monitor his phone, the report noted. The parents told police that Zamora “harassed” the boy’s father, begging him not to contact police.

Police said Zamora also send naked photos to a second student, and that another student had seen her having sex with the 13-year-old victim. It was not clear if it was the same student in both incidents.

Brittany Zamora was arrested on suspicion of eight counts of sexual conduct with a minor, two counts of child molestation, and one count of transmitting obscene material. During a bond hearing, Zamora asked if she could be released and said she would “love to go home to my husband.” Her husband reportedly told the teen’s father that his wife had “made a big mistake,” and suggested that they fight to settle the love triangle, the New York Post reported.

The story of the teacher’s arrest made national headlines this week, and pictures of Brittany Zamora have spread through media outlets and across social media. Some showed the blonde-haired teacher smiling at what appeared to be social media snaps, and the Daily Mail also had pictures of her wedding to her now-husband, whom she had dated since she was 16. Those were contrasted by her tearful mug shot released by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office when news of the arrest was first reported. Zamora remains behind bars on $250,000 bond.

High school biology teacher, 34, accused of having sex with student

A Virginia high school teacher was arrested last Thursday after it was discovered that she allegedly was teaching one student a little too much about the female anatomy.

Miranda Nicole Pauley, a 34-year-old biology teacher at Patrick Henry High School in Ashland, Va., faces four felony counts of indecent liberties by a custodian and one felony count of use of a communication system for crimes against children. She was released on $50,000 bond from the Pamunkey Regional Jail on Friday.

A preliminary hearing has been set for July 12.

As part of her bond, Pauley is to have no contact with anyone under 18, unless the minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian, and is not allowed on any school property except to retrieve her personal belongings.

Sgt. James Cooper of the Hanover Sheriff’s Office told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that the charges stem from a sexual relationship that Pauley purportedly had with a minor, but declined to say if a student at the high school was involved. Local news sources, however, have reported that the affair was between Pauley and a student and that at least one incident occurred on school property.

"Any of these offenses could put her on the sex offender registry, which is something that follows her for a long, long time," legal expert Todd Stone told a local news station.

Pauley, who taught at the high school since 2006, allegedly carried out the illicit affair in November and December of 2017 and in May of this year. School officials notified their human resource department following Pauley’s arrest and the teacher is no longer employed at the school.

“This news is very disturbing, and we take these matters seriously,” Hanover County Public Schools said in a statement. “While our policy prohibits the release of specific details concerning personnel-related matters, we will continue to work closely and in full cooperation with the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.”

An Indiana cheerleading coach allegedly had sex with a student at a booze-fueled party — and was left with “huge hickies,” according to police.

Morgan Judy, 23, was arrested Friday after an investigation into her alleged relationship with a student at Bloomfield High School, where she is a cheerleading coach, the Greene County Daily Word reported.

Judy, who was also a substitute at Linton-Stockton High School, reportedly reached out on Twitter in early May to invite the student to the party.

The student told police that the pair kissed at the boozy gathering, but in a follow-up interview confessed that they “did more than kiss.”

Judy admitted to investigators that she was drunk at the party. However, she claimed that she didn’t kiss or have sex with the student.

“[The teacher] replied that she didn’t remember due to the alcohol, but would have remembered if she and [the student] had sex,” the police report stated.

Police reviewed messages between the pair which showed Judy advised the student not to tell anyone the “hickies” were from her and that she had “huge hickies” on her neck.

She also reportedly told the student to “delete the text messages and the Twitter messages, her contact number from cell phone and to stop texting her,” according to the police report.

“[Judy] advised that she deleted the communication between [the student] off of her phone because ‘it would look bad,’” the police report said.

In subsequent interviews, the cheer coach admitted to kissing the student but continued to deny the other allegations.

Judy was booked last week into Greene County Jail on child seduction charges. She was released on $14,000 bond.

Teacher allegedly had trysts with two boys at school

A veteran high school teacher in North Carolina is accused of engaging in sexual activity with two male students, including one she had sex with, police said.

Rebecca Carol Swinson, a 38-year-old former English teacher and cross-country coach at East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, has been charged with three counts of sex acts with one of the teens and 16 counts of indecent liberties with two students, according to arrest warrants obtained by the Winston-Salem Journal.

Police in Kernersville opened an investigation into Swinson, of Winston-Salem, on July 30. A spokesman for the department said the incidents took place on school grounds during the fall semester of 2017. Some of the illicit trysts took place as recently as early November, according to the warrants.

Both of the boys were under the age of 18 and attended the school, police said. Investigators have declined to indicate how they learned of the allegations.

Swinson, who had worked at the school since 2007, was suspended by the school district after they learned of an active police investigation. She was later fired on Aug. 2, a district spokesman told the newspaper.

“We will continue to work with law enforcement through this investigation and always take allegations [concerning] the safety and well-being of our students seriously,” spokesman Brent Campbell said.

Swinson’s attorney, meanwhile, has asked that Swinson and “all of the individuals involved” be afforded some privacy.

“Due to the nature of the charges, it is tempting to rush to judgment; however, we would caution the public against doing so,” attorney James Quander said in a statement. “This is a very difficult time for Rebecca, her family and dear friends.”

Swinson has been released from jail after posting $150,000 bond, according to the Winston-Salem Journal. She’s due back in court on Sept. 6, WXII reports.
