I was really vacillating on getting one. I was afraid I'd hate it and the stupid lines at the Apple store were keeping me away. Anyhow, I finally went and got one and I've got to say that I love it in a most unnatural way. The phone itself is 100 times better in both call quality and reception than my previous Moto Krzr. The camera is nice as well. The interface is amazing. I've never had any crashes. The fact that you can get on the real internet and actually make use of it is indispensable and was the main reason I bought it. The 3G coverage is pretty good around here (Orange County).

One other thing that people don't mention (even though they bitch to hell and back about the battery life) is that while the battery doesn't last that long, you can recharge it easily. All it takes is a iPod connector. I've got seven of those at home, one at work, and one in the car.

But the best thing is all the applications you can get from the iTunes store. Even the free ones are very nice. The fact that Apple has to approve them keeps the crap out of the store. I'm pretty much hooked on Cube Runner.

For me, it was simply an extra $30 a month for the data plan.

The main reason I dont have one is because I think they are deliberately leaving out a lot of features for new versions. They have now announced an Iphone Nano for Christmas. Since you have to be on an 18 month contract for an Iphone I dont see the point. The thing will be a piece of shit in 6 month bursts.

My opinion is... a fool and his money are soon parted. Seriously though, I would get a blackberry before an iphone.

I've had one since they came out last june, or whenever it was..I've had to replace it 2 times. I still love it! My bill is always super expensive, though. That's my only problem. I wish it was a little cheaper. I paid $600 for the phone, and now I have to pay $200+ every month? errgh!:p

I have an ATT tilt aka HTC 8925 and I love the damn thing. Its flexible on the os, but I'm a bit of a nerd so I'm always tweaking and flashing. Having worked ATT retail for a number of years I like flexibility over style any day. My phone comes with the blackberry connect software built right into the phone. Plus I get unlimited 3g, 1500 text, unlimted mms, 450 mins (having worked in the industry I hate talking on the phone) plus insurance for under $70 a month.

I like the iphone but I can't customize it. But it works right out the box. :p

the whole iPhone vs. other phones is just like Mac vs. PC...to me, there's no real difference. i can do the same things on both platforms, it's just that apple is better looking.

the only other difference is that, since apple is proprietary, lower number of apps available. but does anyone need to choose between 25 poker games?

I'm still staying loyal to my blackberry....
