Never been to Alaska. Although when I was working a summer job at the Washington/BC border, I laughed at a guy who told me at three in the afternoon that he was just going up to Alaska for the day.

I loved Alaska when I was there- spent a month there one summer, taking an arctic ecosystems field course. Sure, it didn't have a hoppin' night-life or anything, but being into the whole nature thing, I don't think I could've ever been bored.

I can't wait to go back someday!

it definitely loses some of its interest after you've lived there for 14 years, and especially if you have anyone with depression in your family. winters are BAD BAD BAD.

i miss it occasionally, but i'd rather have access to affordable fruits and vegetables.

totally different experience as a tourist though, i'm sure.

Yeah, I thought about moving up there when I graduated college, but then realized I wouldn't be able to deal with the winters. I think one of the things I loved the most about being up there in the summer was the endless sun!

sigh... missing it now!

it was a cool place to be a little kid, bad place to be a teenager. hahaha
