Actually, knowing the history of the musicians involved in the Wilburys, it makes a lot of sense that they would work well together. It was a very incestuous group. George & Bob worked together many times and were friends since the mid 60s. George & Roy toured together in the very early 60s and often jammed together (with the other Beatles, of course). Jeff produced records for George & Tom. Tom toured with Bob both as the opening act and as backing band with the Heartbreakers. Jeff's former band ELO was heavily and directly influenced by the work of George's old band's mid to late 60s output. There's more but this is enough precedent.
What I meant by making sense is that Sid Vicious would not mix with Johnny Cash, for instance. However, Randy Rhoads, though known best for his heavy rock guitar heroics, was a more rounded player than that and could have played with most anyone. |

Is 2 weeks a long enough time to be able to safely assume that there is no answer coming?
RDC, why don't you ask a less intense question to a DSF'r :D EDIT: Scampr if you plan on answering let us know. |
Fuck I totally forgot about this.
Dead musicians that I'd put in a band? I can't think of many dead vocalists that I want to hear again is the problem; unless they are waaay dead like Morrison. So let's take Morrison, Hendrix on lead guitar, Bonham on drums, maybe Lennon on rhythym (white album era), Entwhistle on bass and how about Rowberry from the Animals on keyboards. For you young kids out there I'd start with Staley, I know everyone loves Cobain but Layne had a better voice, by a mile. give him Burton, Rhoads, Dimebag, and Carr |
