Holy hell. I hope she gets better man!!

I got an update!!!

She called this morning with a list of stuff to bring her (gotta have huggy pillow!) I spent most of the day at the hospital with her. She is getting more motivation back into her, actually wanting to talk again. She took about an hour nap while I was there. Doc and nurses popping in and out checking on her. Her potassium level is getting better, and one of the docs said her electrolyte levels are almost normal.

She just called a little bit ago and told me that she is on a normal diet now, which means they are going to try her out on solid food since she is able to hold water down now. I doubt she will be coming home tonight, but maybe 1st thing in the morning.

Damn hospital doesn't have free wireless access. I took the laptop to try it out, but they are all secured connections.

I did tell her about the outpouring that she has received from this board. It made her tear up. Then I told her about some of you offering financial help, and that sent her over the edge. The response you guys have given in this situation is like none I have ever seen, and that means a whole lot to us.

Being conscious in a hospital room is boring as hell.

I took her a book containing 4 books within it. The hospital also has a cart that goes around like the ones in prison where you can get shit off of it. And, she has something there that we do not have at home... cable!

There are a few ways around their wep setup. Google it man. I had free net for like three years because I lived like a block from the hospital.

Yeah, I have see ways to get around it. Just didn't even think about it last night. I was planning on looking into it tonight, but she should be out in the morning if all goes well. She is keeping her precious Coca-Cola down now.

Hey BC, just logged in and saw all of this for the first time. I'm glad she's starting to feel a little better. It's been said many times already, but i'll say it again - if you need anything, just ask!! We're thinking of all three of you. Tell her to hang in there, and lots of hugs to MiniBC, too! By the way, we all know that monkey heart of yours isn't really black. :)

Hospitals are basically like prison. I've spent time in both and hate them. I actually had a doc tell me I couldn't leave the hospital. Fuckers think they have you on lock down.

Glad to hear she's doing better man. Smuggle her some goodies. Always made my day in there.

Just read thru all the posts man. I'm happy to hear the Mrs. is getting better. Keep us posted. My prayers go to both of you. To her for health and to you for sanity. I know what it's like to be without the woman you've grown used to sleeping next to. That was always the toughest for me. Hang in there, Bro.

BC .... there is a way to get internet access, only it's dial up, not wireless. I've done this so I know it works. You can set up one of those free dial up internet accts.

First you need to make sure that the phone jack is compatible with your laptop. Second, you need to see if the phone require you to dial 9 for an outside line or not. Also you need to check if it uses a standard phone jack or is hardwired. If it is hardwired, there isn't a solution except an old fashion phone modem. If you can run the wire from the wall to the laptop, then then you need to set the dail-up properties to adjust to the dial 9 delay. It should be anywhere from 1 - 5 sec. The * or the # in between the 9 and the telephone # will set the pause. You may need more than one. I don't remember the sequence, because it's been awhile since I did this. Once you do all this you should hook right into the dial-up isp and slow, but happy interneting. It's better that nothing. The only thing she won't have is use of her phone.

One final note, some hospital use call waiting. It can't be disconnected and it may bump her offline.

It's a nice thought, but don't try to do anything on dial up. I tried to lurk last weekend on dial up. It was fucking miserable. Today's internet isn't designed for dial up. There's just too much shit.

Another update!!

She is still in there.

But, we have found out what caused it. A simple UTI!!!! Had we had known that in the beginning, nothing like this would have happend!

She is in very good shape right now, walking around, talking to anyone and everyone on the phone, and eating solid food.

Me and mini BC are gonna go up and see her after ball practice tonight. Doesn't matter how long we stay, because school has been canceled for tomorrow because of Hannah.

I did leave the laptop with her. She does still have a bunch of the eBooks she downloaded on there, so that should keep her occupied. I did look into cracking the WEP at the hospital, but that is a long, drawn out techie process I was not about to attempt this morning.
