And, as owner of the OTHER place, I fell this is a place to make a statement.

I had only Phone knowledge of this "Jail" today. Not much internet access where I was sitting. I was told about it.

While, in theory, a somewhat good idea, this has nothing to do with things from my forum. There were no minions set out to screw DSF over as far as I know. I have no idea why this was even created. Can anyone direct me to where this barring was needed?

The shit stirring is getting to be a bit much. I have heard and agree somewhat with statements from both parties, but this Jail shit is kinda harsh without knowing the reason. I can guess posts have been pulled, and no one will ever see the truth like the last time around.

And, for stating this, I will probably be shoved into lockdown with my posts moderated. I kind of expect it given the recent course of events. But, as has been stated and I guess the reason of the Jail House, certain voices will not be stopped. There has been alot of learning that we have all done on the DSF forum that will allow those who want to speak here will have a way to.

I remember when this shit was happening in real time because I would see the posts and even try to respond to set him straight and then realized it was probably being done with intent, not because of laziness. And I recall being amused that he was jailed because he deserved it. Since I didn't realize there would be sworn testimony I didn't document all the douchebaggery. And yes there seems to be a bunch of annoying noobs lately but sometimes it's hard to tell if they just need correction because they are young, lazy, from another country or some other reason that has caused them to not quite "get" how posts are supposed to be done. Listen, this situation is such playground bullshit--what has the jail accomplished? nothing. i dont care if i cant talk to anyone or respond to posts, i'd be surprised if this even got approved. i came here for the music, movies and apps. Personally, I liked Pen. He could be an asshole in the rooms at times, but when you asked him a question or need help, he was always there. I think what he said originally was said in anger and I would hate to think he could keep any type of long term grudge. why anyone would want to cause this kind of shit is beyond me.

AS to why uploads are being deleted in other file host sites, too, is beyond me. The only thing I could think of besides what I post in the "read this" thread, is that all this started about the time those russian's posts started flooding us with their lame porn. Someone could be causing the uproar with RS and mega, just to get us to repost to a new file host. it's just another theory. I don't know if it holds water, but someone or something is targeting our main file hosts and we are all running wild trying to plug the leak. Almost sounds like IT terrorism.

Ahem, I feel as though I'm really about to start some shit, but here's my take. Shasta, Mac, and Pen were a huge part of this forum. No day could go by that you didn't know their presence. For the most part, I really liked those guys.
However, over time I think that they felt this was their house. So much, in fact that they felt the need to ridicule almost every newcomer. They liked the close-knit group that started here. I don't think they wanted this place to become some random forum for just anybody. I can respect that, but bottom-line: it's not good business. Hosting a little invitation-only forum for fifty ppl isn't doing Jesus any good. It's charity. When I joined, the forum was starting to get big. There were lots of new interesting ppl joining. Suddenly, these guys weren't top dog anymore. I think it pissed them off. And I think the DSF awards were the final straw. Noobs got blasted the moment they made their first post.
Still, no action was taken by mgmt. And then Shasta started threatening to leave. Hoping the masses would come and beg him to stay. They didn't.
When Shasta posted in Randal's thread about leaving, I got really irritated. And I'm guessing Lucas felt the same.
You guys know the rest, but the moral of this story is:
These guys were ready to leave, just didn't know how to do it without finality. They needed to have reason not to come back.

On a personal note, I sincerely hope they are all doing well.
Please, let's not dwell on this any longer.

MD .... I can't comment on shasta because I really didn't know him. As far as mac and pen blasting on nOObs, I got a less than a fair share from them. I never felt abused. I thought they were easy on me. However, they forced me to learn the rules about posting. When I asked a question, I got direction. I took the blasting in stride as part of the initiation of toeing the line. When I didn't code my first post, everyone took shots at me for not reading the stickys. I found out avvys weren't a priviledge, but something you had to earn by contributing to this community.

These new guys that are coming in here are walking all over the creativity of the forum. We got ppl posting crap porn, dominating pic threads by slamming it with everything and anything they can find on the net, or failing at posting. It seems like everyone wants to tiptoe around them so we don't hurt their feelings. Well bullshit!. Thunderdome hasn't even been used since the 3rd of Oct. because everyone is afraid to confront nOObs.

Well enough is enough. Shasta, mac and pen are gone. They made their decision long before that fateful day. We can't change that.

The reason for jail isn't for railing on nOObs and keeping this forum clean. Right now the celebrity pics and porn threads look like shit. We who remained inherited this house. Well said. I have belonged to at least a dozen boards over the years and i have seen this over and over. People create an identity on the forum and they get known for this identity. Usually the identity is the ideal persona of what that user would like to be in real life but isn't.

After spending so much time reinforcing this identity, when they get kicked off or banned that person gets upset because he now has to start over on another message board and loses all the time spent building this online persona.

And even though nobody knows each other in real life, they get hurt because getting kicked off looks bad and hurts the user's reputation (that belongs to a fictional persona).
