yes they most likely will at the 205 and 185 weight classess. right now there are only about 5 lhws on the roster. dana has already been talking about it quite a bit and from what i'm picking up in his interviews it's pretty much a done deal.

I'll be surprised if they do given the difference in talent, but maybe you'll be right. I was always under the impression they would use the WEC to build fighters and then eventually give them fights in the UFC.

that's the thing though there are no more fighters to build at those weight classes. outside of sonnen, filho and maybe bryan baker there is no one worth shit at mw. the ufc puts on so many shows that they will still be able to develop the higher weight fighters on ppv undercards and on the spike free events. if they dont merge then filho and sonnen will have to fight three times a year until one of them decides to retire(or when paulo overdoses)

I believe Filho will be moving over to the UFC real soon. Granted, he has some personal issues right now, but he'll be submitting Sonnen once again on September 10th, and I'll be there to watch . Personally, I think the UFC had to get him some fights in the US before they could move him over to the UFC because I believe he could beat just about anyone in the middleweight division on any given day. He is unbelievably talented. Sonnen is also an amazing fighter, but I think he gets submitted again.

I think he offers an interesting look into what Brock Lesnar has to look forward to, as well as how his back is against the wall. As for predicting an outcome for this fight, I honestly think it could go either way.
That last article you posted SP looks like something Soze wrote, haha. I think Sonen and Fihlo need to make there way over to the UFC soon because like the article points out there's not a whole lot in terms of competition for them in the UFC. Leave the lighterweights and less skilled LHW and HWs in WEC so that they can beat up on each other, help them put on some exciting knockouts on the cards and change the pace up w/ the great Bantam, Feather and Lightweight fights on the cards. AS much as I love Condit, I think he needs another two fights in WEC before he's ready to jump over to UFC, although I would probabl ynot have been saying that before his last match against Samurai.
There's nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

I actually wouldn't mind seeing the WEC send the best of their LHWs & MWs to the UFC and only have WWs & down. The lighter weight classes are more exciting, period. Not to mention the fact that there may be 5 guys in MW & LHW in the WEC that can be considered top notch.
