Just based on what little you're telling us VirginiaB, and believe me, you can hardly sum up an entire psychological issue in a couple of paragraphs, but, yeah... he's just not into you anymore, but doesn't want to give up the easy access to sex.

I've been that dude, and I bet it's because his big thrill was being your 'first', 'teaching' you the ways of his world, and making you the perfect lover for him all-around. Once he achieved that, what does he have? It was the thrill of the hunt, I think, and once he caught and domesticated you, he got bored. He was in lust with your wide-eyed wonder and new experiences.

The honeymoon phase for him is over. But I guarantee you, he doesn't want to share you with anyone else. You ditch him and hook up with someone else, and he'll be jealous as sin. Try it, even if it's just a friend you do nothing with. He'll wake up if even remotely thinks you are practicing his education on someone else.

He is tired of you, but doesn't want to ditch you for some reason. How long has this disinterest been going on? Chances are he's stringing you along while he plays the field of the side. Possibly is just keeping you around until he finds a replacement.
