Anyone want to talk about arachnids or post pictures, here's the place.
Here's a few of mine. I'll take more pix soon and post them up.

Brazilian Giant White Knee - (Acanthoscurria geniculata) female

Goliath Pink Foot - (Theraphosa apophysis) - second largest tarantula in the world. Female on left, male on right.

Mexican Fireleg and other common names - (Brachypelma boehmei)
Female left, male right.

Haitian Bird eater - (Phormictopus cancerides) Male

More to come.

Haitian Bird Eater and the male Goliath Pink Foot are my favorite so far.. are the males usually more colorful than the females?

When you said they're yours did you mean the pics or the actual spiders?

Sometimes. in some species the female is more colorful. Some look exactly the same until they reach their adult molt. Then the differences are only noticeable by someone who knows what to look for.

My spiders, I think I took all the pics but a friend might have teken one. But they are or were my spiders at one time or another. I still have the female goliath, white knee and fireleg. Males only live a few years. Those Haitian spiders are bastards. Kick hair all the time and bite for nothing.

thats nasty shit. You know a brown recluses teeth are too small to bite you. You have to squash it against something for the teeth to penetrate.

You have a captive audience in me Snake. Im sooooo there when you put more up. When I used to work at the high school the kids actually bought me a stuffed tartantula puppet from the zoo. Still have it in my room.

Nice, just wanted to make sure.

I've been thinking of getting a pet, but I'm not home enough for a dog or whatever. How much care do they need? Do they need a specific temperture or any other special requirements?
