I agree, I have been watching UFC since it's debut, and that trash on CBS was a joke. There are some fight clubs that are good, like K1, and could compete with UFC, but everything about Elite XC was sub-par. None of the fights were anything special, none of the athletes stood out, and they put on a circus. Busta Rhymes? I like Busta, but that was garbage.

On a side note, I'll put money on Colossus never being allowed to fight again for swatting the ref.

The ear wasn't as bad as it looked. Cauliflower ear, it's just scar tissue on top of cartilage. It hurts to get hit, but not enough to stop a fight over. Look at Randy Couture's. His are just as gross.

agreed on coutures ears but it was weird to see thompsons ear like that without the other being anywhere near as swollen. shit look like a tumor

why yes it was, Elite XC has all of the $$ banking on Kimbo to be a huge hit...they had to stop it before he got his ass kicked...

It just means that ear has taken more of a beating than the other. Wrestling mats will give you bad cauliflower ear, so will hammer fists. It happens to a lesser extreme around some piercings too. If it was at all not safe for him to be in the ring, he wouldn't all MMA is through sanctioning fight commissions, and if the fighters aren't fit to fight, they don't.

I wonder how long Elite intends to keep the charade up though. Eventually even the new fans will start to question why Kimbo isn't fighting people like Antonio Silva, Rico Rodrigues, or any of the other legit HW's.

I wonder if they are going to throw him under the bus at some point and replace him as their cornerstone. His skill level can't raise fast enough for them to keep him as a main event for long without everyone calling BS; which is too bad, given a few years he could be pretty good as he has the heart for it.
