I agree with you. It did seem a bit on the long side but was still good. I con't compare it to the others as I don't remember them (maybe that says enough about them).
Pretty funny, good cheese factor, lots of celebrity cameos. Biz is even in this one. It was overall a great flick, even if they did steal a lot of elements (opening from Airplane, scene from Twilight Zone and Twilight Zone the Movie).
As envisaged, the amtronic now converts to 'hover' mode...

The Chapman Report from 1962. Pretty racy for the day. Claire Bloom is a nympho and gets gangbanged by a 5 piece jazz band, Jane Fonda is a frigid widow that Efrem Zimbalist Jr. (RIP Lewis Erskine!) has to defrost.

Symmetrical book stacking. Just like the Philadelphia mass turbulence of 1947.

Damn those publicity-seeking hacks. They created this thing then used the planets' paranoia to stoke up the interest
And the most annoying thing about all this bullshit?
The film really isn't bad. It's funny. The characters are actually believable and the plot is sound. A couple too many piss, shit and fart jokes, and it's certainly not worth the furore that was manufactured around it, but it really is an OK film. I'd go as far to give it 7.5/10
