I was against Bush's attempts to stiffle free speech and still believe that the Patriot Act is an affront to the Constitution and the Iraq war was started to get a better foothold in the middle east. The person writing the story may be a wack job but it's the actions of the US Senate that he is reporting on.

I'll shut up about it but when this goes through and suddenly the internet here resembles the Chinese internet more and more I will be vindicated.

Does that bill allow the government to shut down those worthless sites like Myspace and Facebook?

I try to avoid these political threads, cuz they end up being trouble, but this bill is serious, no matter your political loyalties. Blowing it off cuz you voted D is asinine. I would think especially Democrats would freak about this infringement on civil liberties. Really? Megalomania, anyone? How much more power does this administration require? I'm asking, cuz I'm getting nervous. It's like we're just one "emergency" away from another takeover. But, it's all for our own protection, you know. And before you libs start pushing the Bush failings, think about how much his late-term policy looks like Obama's. I'm about getting govt. out of my life.

wtf hes not gonna shut down the internet as soon as the bill is passed.

if anything we should b happy the govt can take care of a threat if necessary...isnt that what bush's war and guantanamo and pows and patriot act and telephone/email/whatever else NSA screening/FCC watching was all about?
