I have always wanted and admired states that wanted to make this a condition of Gun Licensing, but all the lobbying by the NRA and Militia groups has prevented that from come to fruition as a condition of gun ownership. It's probably one of the few areas the the NRA and I differ.

But pred,, using you as an example, it's through your training and respect of weaponry that makes you a more responsible gun owner. If every gun owner was required to train in simple gun usage, I think the need for ammo counting and control would not be necessary, however that being said that is why I support some kind of control system. I hope that clarifies my position better.
