Thanks for blowing this up - I was about to.
Ammunition Coding Systems (ACS) of Seattle, WA is the 'sponsor' - they make coding technology - it's not Obama wingnuts, this shit's been out there forever.
I hold a dozen guns, and even if this shit was real, wouldn't phase me at all. Just have to replace my cartridges, which I should probably do anyway.

I have no issue with putting serial numbers on the casing, as it will help, no matter how little with solving some crimes, but the concept has too flaws.
  1. It's cost prohibitive. Now there is just another expense that the gun owner must incur without his permission, which in a sense is another form of taxation, even thought the monies go to the ammo maker to offset the costs of complying with the regulation. The ammo cos. are being regulated to do so, by legislation, without us having a voice. Didn't we fight a revolution and set up the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to stop this kind of tyranny?
  2. They want to tax each round. That is again another tax, this time on a inalienable right. To me it's just another form of suppress of our rights, to tax it out of the hands of the common man. Once they start taxing it, as minimal as it is, they, then, will have the opening to go in and set newer values of taxation with little recourse, raising the revenue received from the sale of ammo to exuberant amounts. This type of taxation needs to be boycotted. However to boycotted denies us our rights to bear arms for guns without bullets is just another heavy stone. A voice of alarm needs to be raised to this liberalism, socialist restriction of our rights.
No, it might not have been an Obama initiative, but it was started iby a liberal Congress. The reason it probably sat for so long is that the democrappers knew he would never sign it, but now that we have a socialist President, they have a better chance.

talk about the bill of rights and fighting tyranny is a fucking joke. no tyranny and individual rights are great in theory but that shit has never existed. no matter what happens, someone gets put in charge and their head gets big so shit goes down hill. Who hasn't seen that? Are you familiar with GW and his reign? You could probably throw a dart and hit unconstitutional shit that he did.

So let's start one of those annoying online petitions - but this time, we link to pictures of all our guns (ammo in the picture would help - so they don't think we're throwing rocks).

Either way, I have my li'l stockpile of ammo - and I'm burning up more of it tomorrow.

Well that didn't take long - the 'liberalism' buzzword (combined with 'socialist' isn't that highly explosive and threatening to the blood pressure of fat oxy chewers everywhere?!)
Don't get me wrong, I'm with you on undue taxation, but fyi- the definition according to Dictionary of Liberal includes:

4. favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
5. favoring or permitting freedom of action, esp. with respect to matters of personal belief or expression: a liberal policy toward dissident artists and writers.
6. of or pertaining to representational forms of government rather than aristocracies and monarchies.

Not that I consider myself one (they all suck), but you gotta elevate your game - Even if Obama was behind this (which he has proven not to be), how'd that last phony run shit? and don't give me the 'oh he was a fake conservative', cause he pulled all the righties, and he broke shit.
And Ross Perot advocated going door-to-door in poor areas of Dallas and confiscating weapons back in his run.
It ain't liberals, conservatives, right or left - it's corporations and special interest on all sides.

FTW!!

I wish I had dumped a shit ton of money into gun companies after Obama got elected. I should have known the crazies would be terrified of Obama and start trying to stock up.

You don't need no gun control. You know what you need? We need some bullet control. Man, we need to control the bullets, that's right. I think all bullets should cost $5000. $5000 for a bullet. You know why? 'Cause if a bullet costs $5000, there'd be no more innocent bystanders. ? Every time someone gets shot, people will be like, "Damn, he must have did something." - Chris Rock
