Nice updates for Affliction. The old Belfort beats Lindland. The current Belfort, well I'll never count him out, but I'm guessing Lindland by wet blanket smothering technique.

They have some big money backers, so the promotion could last if they budget well and keep their financing in order. Remember, the UFC wasn't profitable for a really long time.

The VP of Affliction who is in charge or the MMA part said they are going to do 4 shows for sure, but will abandon the whole thing if they are losing money.

Personally, I'm a fan of the cage. I feel that a ring just complicates things, and puts a lot of emphasis on the ref knowing when it's a good time to move stuff away from the ropes, making sure they get into the original position, etc. I don't know how I feel about Affliction's staying power just yet. If they only tried to put on a show every 2 or 3 months, I think they'll last well into next year. If they try to saturate the market with their heavyweight action, they might have a little more problems getting people to buy their cards versus the UFC cards.

And SP: C'mon man, Wet Blanket smothering technique? Geez. . .albeit true, that stings to someone living in Team Quest territory!

I like that you're fitting into the forum so well now that you're able to direct sly, yet effective, insults to people (ie: me). It works well. Plus, the fact that I back Team Quest to the point of borderline being a homer, it was a good one. (C'mon, it's hard to bet against Hendo, Lindland, formerly Couture and even some of the lesser guys like Quarry and Herman!)

I totally agree. TQ is a tough fucking camp. Thanks for admiring my sly skill set. I don't plan on going anywhere, so we'll be good friends (until a Gracie Barra/Renzo guy or ATT fights TQ).

I'd probably jump in with you in that case, but just because I'm not a complete homer! My love for TQ runs about geographically deep, not a whole lot more than that
